Turtle Meta is killing this game

It was discussed in last weeks warriors den stream that they had plans to change the turtle meta in a number of different ways, with chip damage and changing properties of parries. This weeks stream however these changes were completely overlooked, as if they had given up on implementing turtle meta changes since the new characters will change the meta. The new characters, while very exciting, will only increase the popularity of the game for a short time. Additionally if these two characters moves happen to be turtle breaking then they will be the only choices for many if not all players competitively. I have so much hope for this game and have been waiting with anticipation for every new update, but the core of the game when facing higher level players becomes a staring match, unless of course u include the "stronger characters" like Warlord and Warden that can deal with a player who with very little difficulty blocks your attacks and baits a mistake. I had faith in Roman from the dev teams understanding of overall character balance, but his statement of warlord and his insane throw distance from a single gb not being too much has me losing faith in this game. Do the devs want all players to use only warlord in tournament play, do they really want to reward less skilled more patient players?

They are in a pretty bad situation in my opinion. I honestly do not know how they are going to get out of where they are right now when it comes to their reputation, necessary trust, faith, and general sense of "worth investment (time and money)".

A brief history of what has transpired recently regarding stability, and functionality, isn't IMO going to be fixed by a character or two being added by UBI Montreal, or improving upon any existing characters, because doing any of that will only matter to the community that still exists from the larger community this game had at launch that left.

And we know a lot of people left.

••First... activation of the capture using the X1 DVR function was in fact causing lag spikes and disconnects PRIOR to the console update that included "Beam"(from Microsofts attempt to partner/own/whatever)... what transpired after that X1 update was simply just worse. A link that included video capture "of" the aforementioned was put on the ForHonor Twitter page explaining this problem about the X1 DVR function causing lag upon activation, and it was posted way before the X1 update.

But when UBI Montreal "shut down the DVR and its functionality" they effectively "deleted" all my vid captures, including that specific example I posted a link to on the ForHonor Twitter page that contained the link. So not only is the link useless, the actual video captures of the DVR causing the issue (dated prior to the X1 beam update) were just "*poof*", gone. So oh well.

••Next, and if ANYBODY OUT THERE has friends willing to test this, and have an external capture card it'd be helpful for UBI Montreal when/if you test it AND post a link to the video results.. After Ubi Montreals most recent stability update the following transpires under the conditions/settings listed below:

    •Console:Xbox One-S
    •For Honor Multiplayer
    •Grouped with 1 friend.
    •Dominion, Elimination, Skirmish game modes
    •Matchmaking:Off
•All progress achieved at the end of every match is lost (Steel, Character Experience, any gear rewards, and all possible progress) to consistent "Retrieval Errors & Retrieval Failures".
•My results: Tested for an hour, yielding an hour of "Retrieval Errors and failures" resulting in absolutely no way to gain any progress on experience, steel, or gain rewards.

I'd have captured video of this for Ubi Montreal if you didn't turn off the DVR functionality, due to what ever the issue is with the advanced peer-to-peer being faulty when activating the DVR Capture. So again... Shrug*

Lastly... The RNG rewarded not one heroic piece of gear after prestige 3, all the way to level "Prestige 3/18". The game only started rewarding "Heroic" AFTER I received a heroic item via (surprise) purchasing a reward cache.

What saddens me is this game LITERALLY HAS A TON OF MONUMENTAL POTENTIAL... the actual combat, despite UBI Montreal making some balance decisions I don't fully agree with but I'm fine living with, and because of the time it's taken to fix the "advanced peer to peer" and the "matchmaking issues" a vast VAST amount of the games players left from the two months and three weeks post sale where the game was not (and still isn't) fixed.

I feel extremely bad for this game.
It got ganked by not being fixed.
    And every1 left.
Out of 30+ players on my friends list who bought this game, 2 remain.

How they are going to increase the demographic for this game is probably going to be huge when they do it. Why or how it has taken this long may be due to conditions that I can understand we should not be privy to.

But if you're adding maps, characters, and a new tier of gear, that's really only effecting those "who are still playing". And the larger that number, the more would've advertised the game for you via YouTube-DVR and word-of-mouth.

And you've got neither of those right now. I'm talking about UBI Montreal, Jay Vanderbergh, Emile Gauthier, Stéphan Cardin, etc etc.
