Ok, so its hard to explain, but for this you need to fall in the opening and kick yourself forward and basically get lucky. If you get lucky you will fall forward and your bike will hit you from behind to knock you all the way into the egg. If your bike doesnt hit you, you wont get there. Sorry for not having better advice, but just keep trying til you get it.

24 hours have passed so I can't try again, but I tried ~30 times and I couldn't get there

That must've been the one I was missing. Can't check now since it's been too long, but unless there are five eggs in Sewage Treatment, that had to have been the one I missed.

Track: Steam Quarter

Between the 1st and 2nd checkpoints there's a hump that you'd normally stay low over to get the best time. Jump high instead and the egg is suspended in the air there.

Just got this egg. Took about 5 minutes but I used the Donkey bike and did exactly as said here. The goal is to crash but land on the bike so you roll back to get the egg. Takes a few tries but you'll get it.
