News of the week
Special stream on the 15th, gameplay premier event. New maps, new characters, 2pm pacific
16 competitors in duels with character of their choice in a round robin. Top eight will be in two teams of four in dominion using new maps and new characters. There will be Interviews with devs, look ahead to what is coming in the coming months. Thursday will still have a show.
Mass migration of players to the viking faction. This could actually be bad for the vikings if new players don't do so well as the originals.
Join in progress lead to new bugs. It is one of the harder things to test as it needs a large number of players. The dev team are working on it and bug fixing, they will reactivate when they can.
DVR and Beam have been reactivated on xbox. DVR wasn't to blame for the degradation in performance,they are still working with Microsoft.
Season pass, new characters will be available on May 16th for free.Everyone else 23rd 15,000 steel each.Starting 23rd you can practice with and against new heroes. On the 16th, maps drop for everyone. Gear update as talked about last week.
They are working on putting together a list of problems they know about for the forum.
Season two will see the map expanded.
No new content this week,giving a break for people to save steel.
Viking celebration bundle, it has an ornament and execution for each hero on the viking faction. 50% off regular steel price.
Next week three battle outfits for all heroes. New bats effect. I...might just need this effect.

Gameplay style.
Centurion. (27:42)
Centurion is a close range pressure character.He can charge heavy attacks for more range. Range otherwise is similar to warlord. He can chain kicks and punches. His left hand is a weapon just as much as his sword is. he has throw downs as well as punches. One of his dominion feats give a life boost to the entire team. he has a heavy attack where he jumps forward and pins someone on the floor for HUGE damage, almost two shot level of damage. You do not want to let the centurion get close to you on his own terms. If you dodge, he is punishable. Main goal is get opponent on the ground. Epic gear is epic. He has two types of guardbreak, quick and charged.
Moveset screen.
Knockback kick. Follow any throw with guardbreak for a kick.
Imperial Might. Finish a chain with a charged heavy for unblockable attack. Quick punch and kick can be followed by this also.
Eagles Talons. Use jump attack on an unbalanced enemy for extra damage. Triggers with Heavy
Lion's Claws Light-Light-Light chain
Lion's Fangs. Light-Light-Heavy
Lion's Bite. Heavy-Heavy
Eagle's Fury not in guard mode heavy attack
Eagle's Fury alternative heavy off a dodge
Legion kick dodge-guardbreak
Jab heavy hit or block, hold/release guardbreak.
Charged jab heavy hit or block hold guardbreak.
Lion's Roar - Guardbreak-Ligght-Light-Light
Parry counter guardbreak after parry.
His description is Melee specialist, mix-up intensive.
Shinobi (37:11)
Range weapon, he can throw his weapon to get in your face, dodge in and out. He is fast, apparently he is much more technical. Heavy is charged similar to a conq's flail. He can double sprint, costs stamina but he goes faster and he can knock the opponent down with a tackle. He has the lowest health pool in the game, only three and a half bars. Deflect he disappears and appears behind his opponent, this will make him a ledger, seriously do not approach at a ledge if you are throwing heavies for him to deflect off, his deflects also do bleed damage. Shinobi needs to hit a lot of moves to grind you down, it is constant damage rather than burst.
Epic gear is also epic.
He is listed as melee, counter attacker.
Moveset screen I have done my best with the move list, you really need to look at it yourself, some of it is very complex.
General assassin reflex defence.
Deflect teleports the shinobi behind the opponent and inflicts bleed, it can be followed by kick or Light.
Light attack combo:
Shadow Dancer: Second light is guaranteed if first one hits.
Ghoul's Rage: Light attack is guaranteed if heavy hits.
Charge attacks have two levels, the higher the charge the more range they have.
Super sprint: Press sprint twice
Double dodge: Cancel dodge by performing another dodge.
Kick mixup
Charge limitations - If you are out of stamina you cannot charge. You can cancel charge with dodge or feint. When blocked the charge is always interrupted.
Charged attack - If parried by an opponent you will be unbalanced.
Shadow Dancer. Light-Light (second light guaranteed)
Sickle rain. Heavy-Heavy (opponent grounded) Light-Light-Light. (Inflicts bleed)
Ghouls Rage. Heavy-Light (Light guaranteed)
Spidersilk whip. Hold/release Heavy-Heavy
Tackle: Guardbreak while not in lockewd mode
Charge. Hold heavy, release fora heavy
Grab - Hold Heavy press guardbreak
Heavy or guardbreak after a kick provide mixup options.
Front roll - Dodge while charging heavy
Front roll kick - Guardbreak after the roll
Crushing front roll - Heavy after the roll
Double dodge kick - dodge, dodge, guardbreak
Backflip - Dodge after light, heavy or kick
Crushing backflip - Guardbreak after a light, heavy or kick followed by heavy.
Release notes (1:01:39)
Matchmaking: Matchmaking is going to have a reputation score (over all heroes) parameter. This will however mean obviously you can have rep 10 heroes vs rep 1 heroes. You get matchmaked on skill first and then rep. They will be tweaking this over time.
Tweak deadzone on sticks so you can make it more reactive.
Removed soft feint off guardbreak and lights. They might consider putting it back in after as a proper feature with timing windows. This is not behind the flicker issue, they are still working on that.
Unlock exploits are patched out, they will have the same property unlocked as locked.
RAIDER! Gave the ability to cancel any heavy attack into stunning tap. Stunning tap can now chain into moves. Zone attack feint bug fixed. They are improving his throws. Stampede charge drains enemy stamina while you are throwing and does not regen before the end of the move. Reduced stampede charge stam cost to 40. Raider recovers faster after the stampede charge and there is damage to the knee hit. So you are going to get more damage after that both in the knee and damage. Stamina pool increased to 130 up from 120. Rebalancing on damage, chop and poke second light increased, light finisher damage increased, winding slash light attack damage also increased. Lawbringer. Updated moveset to reflect changes. Bug fixes,activating revenge after a shove will not unbalance enemy. Sweet justice finisher bug has been fixed. Fixed animation glitch on longarm.
Shugoki. Out of guard attack all consistent with locked mode attack.
Nobushi. No big buff. A lot of feedback has been given, they will look at her in the coming weeks. Out of lock attacks same properties as locked.
Warden. Re-enabled ability to switch targets during shoulder bash.
XP increase all matches 25% Gear stats will be applied. Four new weapons and two armour gear per hero. new rarity lootable at rep 5. Crafting costs revied, early gear costs less to be upgraded in steel and salvage, gain my scrapping has been changed.
Elimination. One revive per round.
Still working on colourblind.
Q&A (1:20:50)
Roman's main is Valkyrie. Damien's is Kensei. Elric mains Peacekeeper. Emile's nobushi.
Console vs PC balance, no plans for separate balance. They have other stuff coming in. Peacekeeper win/loss ratio is lower on console. They are trying to improve all other elements overall. Can't go 60 fps but trying to improve reactivity elements as much as possible first. They will try in future to improve reactiveness and perception as much as possible.
Cannot transfer heroic rarity appearance to epic gear.
Gear stat transfer. Old stats build should transfer to new stats build. I don't know if he just means position on the gear or things like debuff resistance.
Mythic bundles, they might be able to do new bundles on the new characters but they won't be added into old bundles retroactively.
Looking closely at nobushi and feedback, nothing specific nor timeline on it now.
Season starts 8 am eastern 12 pm utc
Defence penetration will not negate whole of defence stat, I think there was a 2% difference between max defence and max defence penetration. They will be monitoring it as it goes live.
Kensei being punishable by guardbreak on side dash block is a feature not a bug, same as valkyrie. These are deliberately different from the assassin side dodges.
No current plans on warlord nerf. They feel he is in a good place. yes he is a good character but their preference is to buff and improve other characters like they did with the raider and see how that affects things. Fights are more interesting and diverse than they used to be. Is he good, yes, does he need a nerf as of today? They don't think so currently.
Conqueror, he has too few moves, he is a strong character, the issue is he only really has one good strategy, they are considering it. They do not have a good answer for it currently, it is under consideration.
New characters currently have same execute and emote numbers as others did at launch.
Someone asked why Damien is so handsome, apparently it is the chlorophyll in his water >.> Just writing what they said!
Switch stance speed is being fixed, that fix will be coming soon, no specific date but they are working on it. The slower characters will be in line with the rest of them, the animation changes takes time and they do not want to make new bugs,so it will come when it comes.
They find throw distance with the warlord interesting, they will see if it needs changing in the future, but no current plans.

Matchmaking in party, region peak is leader, matchmaking between groups they try to get a close average rep rating between each team. (I think this is what he said, if anyone can understand better than I did let me know and I will edit it.
They will have a little on ranked mode on monday.
