So, after fiddling with it all night, coming up short and ultimaely uninstalling the game, here's what happened to my far cry primal.
So, I tried to boot it up after I remember the game being fun and all. Exept it wouldn't boot. Not how you'd think anyway.
It booted, went through the splash screen, and all that would happen is my cursor would disappear and the main menu music would play while I sat there staring at the desktop. It was easy enough to alt tab out of this void and try an old trick for Windows. I went to my task manager, minimized, the maximized the program. All that would happen, would be a sudden dark screen filling the void that would flicker occasionally, changing in brightness, almost as if you'd put a blanket over the actuall screen animation.
If I had to guess, I'd say the game was trying to start on a different monitor, but I dont run a multi monitor setup. I'm using a I5 and a AMD RX 480, if that means absolutely anything, running on windows 10.
Sooo, yeah. Might wanna fix this.
Joined just so I could chime in here. Same issue, launcher pops up, disappears and music comes on, no visuals though. I DO have multiple monitors and it's not showing on either. Didn't want to uninstall the game and lose my progress, luckily for me you tried that and it didn't work eh? I uninstalled my AMD drivers and reinstalled with no change. Full disclosure, I have Displayfusion running as well but rebooted with it turned off...no effect. . Another issue that may be related is my GPU scaling doesn't seem to be working, so my larger monitor is missing half of the taskbar.
I noticed alot of issues after a huge windows update not more than a couple weeks ago. That's when everything went ****y.
I would try the new beta AMD drivers to see if that works, but my internet is very limited and I used my daily allowance with the first driver...500MB seems huge for a ****ing driver, just me? I will let you know.
