***UBISOFT*** - Suggestions For Story & Co-op Play (*SPOILER ALERT*)

    1. The World Is A Big Place...

We all understand that there are three factions, who have been forced into continuing the war under false pretenses after the world recovered from the cataclysm that tore it apart so long ago:

    - The Samurai fought to end the threat of Apollyon and to defend against the brazen actions of the Vikings.Their Emperor was slain (we have no confirmation of who became Emperor at the end of the story mode) and after the end of Apollyon, they seem to have no rational reason to not retreat back into their lands and only fend off assaults.

    - The Vikings fought for a single primary purpose: to raid and plunder and attain glory in life or in death. But they were also forced into more widespread battle after the relative internal peace of their lands was disrupted by the Blackstone Legion and the Blackstone Legion's desires to drive the Vikings into civil war.

    - The Knights are the strangest of this group and, to me, seem the least developed, but not at all the least complex. The Blackstone Legion, commanded by Apollyon and her lieutenants who were once her equals, seek war for no other purpose but war itself. To them, they have no purpose in life if there is no war. Warriors serve only one function to them and the 'sheep' must be culled to allow the 'wolves' to run free. That's the Blackstone Legion itself, and it seems that the Iron Legion survived to continue the fight and defend their lands from invaders, but the Knight faction in general seems somewhat silent and undeveloped. After the initial two missions, you don't really hear much about them, which I find a grave injustice, but that is how it goes.

The story is wonderful, all in all, but here's where my curiosity gets the better of me: What is outside of these lands? 7 years have passed since the death of Apollyon at the hands of the Emperor's Champion and whispers of 'peace' have started once more. With that, I can only assume the chance for their eyes to turn outside of their three lands. What lays beyond? We have heard, now, of two new champions joining 'the war': the Centurion and the Shinobi. If either of these champion's homelands resided in either the Samurai lands or the Knight lands, they would have been discovered long before now. Where did they come from? And where will the next champions hail from? If these champions do, indeed, hail from existing kingdoms within the Viking/Knight/Samurai lands, what has taken them so long to join the fight and, why then, do they not already have positions within their armies? From a story perspective, this is very poorly done if that is the case.

SUGGESTION: Expand the story beyond the third chapter. Beyond the death of Apollyon and beyond constant conflict and war in this boxed area of confrontation. The area we have seen must take up only a *VERY* small portion of actual landmass in this world. The chance for alliances to be formed between the existing factions and 'outsider' champions' homelands to tie them from a story perspective to the factions they are joining.

While the gameplay is fantastic, I am a story person. I need story to sustain me, and the existing story is a mere taste of what this game and its story is capable of becoming. Don't waste this opportunity to expand the rich lore of this alternate world.

    2. Everyone Deserves The Chance To Fight...

I, personally, love this game. I would not go into such detail or put the effort into my previous suggestion if I didn't wish for the continued success of the game.

That said, I feel that some players and potential fans are being cheated. I know many people, personally, that do not have the money or means to obtain this game or the means by which to play it (purchase of a computer or a console). I have friends who have expressed a desire to play this game, but do not own a PC capable of playing this game or a Playstation or Xbox to play it on. Here's the kicker, though: I do. I have a PC which I play this game on, and I also own an Xbox One. The problem is, if I were to buy the game for the Xbox One (which I would in a heartbeat, if the case were otherwise), we can only take turns playing. There is no chance to play the game 'Couch Co-op'. If there were the ability to play the Campaign mode and Custom Games either against a friend (duels) or *with* a friend against bots (elimination/skirmish/dominion/brawl) on the same TV screen, I would buy a second copy of this game in a flash.

Right now, as I said above, I feel as though some players/fans are being cheated by not being able to play side-by-side with their friends and/or family.

I know that it has been said in the past that to do split-screen would degrade the graphic display and/or performance of the game, but... should that not be the choice of the players to put up with that graphics/performance degradation?

SUGGESTION: Since you folks, obviously, have open minds and welcome input - here is mine in this regard: Add Split-Screen mode for the consoles, but only for non-contributing modes (anything except modes that contribute to a player's levels/reputation/the faction war)

From my understanding, the kensei (forget her name) became the emperor after they killed the orochi when storming the castle. There was a snippet after the story where the kensei, warlord, and lawbringer have a discussion about trying to recreate the peace they once had before Apollyon intervened. They stated that they might die while trying to create these ties, so that may be the setup for For Honor 2. As far as the Iron legion goes, I want to say to the Warden took place as the leader because he sent Holden to do the negotiations after they betrayed Apollyon. I would love to see more story in the game, because like you said it was not fleshed out enough to warrant satisfaction. Unfortunately, I don't see anything like that happening anytime soon since the development team is focused on the multiplayer aspect of the game.

Very true, I forgot about that cut scene involving Seijuro (the Orochi who was granted temporary power by Apollyon) and the Orochi we play and the Kensei, Ayu, ultimately taking power.

Also, I believe that you are right about the Warden taking power within the Iron Legion. Holden does mention, in the final cut scene between himself, Ayu and Stigandr, that he was sent by the new 'Lord Warden'. Good catch.

But, yeah, even beyond that, the game truly does need more of a story. Feels much too short and has too much potential to go beyond the current boundaries.
