And if your running windows 10 make sure you launch both Steam and Uplay as Run As ADMINISTRATOR
this game was shipped well before windows 10 did ...and yes you may need to take that extra step to run the game
this games engine was created years before windows 10 shipped and that change may needed to allow the game to write any save files and or configuration files , windows 10 may handle file security \ permissions in a different way, then previous operating systems did.
if you have a problem... try this
right click on the games .exe file
select properties
select the compatability tab
check the box that says run as Administrator
set it to run in a windows 7 compatabilty mode
you can also run the windows 10 compatablilty trouble shooter from that same window
also i did hear from a few ppl that the some of the newer AMD drivers have an issue .. make sure you install the latest one
if ya have an AMD vid chip PLEASE CONTACT AMD SUPPORT RIGHT AWAY ..they had a bug in past drivers that caused both FC3 and 4 to display that same error ..ended up it was yep ....their BAD driver support
also if your new to the game no this game will not run on a dual core CPU nor will it run on a direct X 10 graphics chip or onboard intel vid chip
you need to meet or exceed the FarCry 4 Minimum SYSTEM requirements and yep they are a bit steep
Minimum supported Intel CPU is a QUAD CORE

Hi, unfortunately none of these suggestions helped in my case
Running windows 10, update 1703 (current)
GPUs = 2xGforce 980Ti (Sli mode)
Nvidia Gforce driver 384.94 (current)
Farcry 4 with presumably latest updates auto installed (the Uplay 'verify game files' function found nothing wrong or out of date)
No 3rd party mods
I have disabled Team Viewer and have none of the other incompatible apps installed
I have tried running FarCry 4 in compatibility mode for windows 8 & 7 - no change
I have set uPlay & Steam and Farcry4 all to run in administrator mode
I am still getting regular crashes with the windows 10 "Farcry 4 has stopped working" error message
FarCry Primal meanwhile continues to work perfectly on this setup.
shut down all Nvidia game works options .. use only Utra settings
please see the following threads about this problem .
http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php...n-FC4-crashes?
and this one on the official Nvidia forums
https://forums.geforce.com/default/t...-in-far-cry-4/
nvidia borked the game works option in the drivers a long time ago
what are your system specs ? .. and why not make your own thred .. or contact Ubi support for your region
If you are still having issues , please go to the Support site for your region and open a support ticket, try webchat or
initiate a phone call direct to support (if available for your region )
