The Problem
For characters that don't have a special property to block guardbreaks on dodge, vortexing is a huge problem. And the reason why vortexing is a huge problem, is because the player is being attacked with bashes.
The Scenario
So let's start up a scenario. There's some character that has a bash property. Bash leads to guaranteed light attack, some get a heavy. Your enemy then goes for another bash attack, but this time you dodge, but OH WAIT, they went for a guardbreak instead, and now you have a guaranteed heavy on you. So you decide to just take the bash, you get a guaranteed light. You eventually either guess when they are going for a bash correctly and guardbreak them, and either get one hit on them or they counter guardbreak you and they begin their vortex all over again.
Scenario Breakdown
The problem here is, there is a bash that gives a free hit. Totally free, no penalties. But if you decide to counter that move by moving out of the way, you get punished even harder for trying to escape the bash. And they can just keep trying all day long, and your only real hope is that you can attack them fast enough to stop them mid bash, but half of the bashers have a mechanic that prevents even hits from disrupting them from doing what they do most.
tl;dr Bashes give the opponent a free punish, and get to punish you even harder for trying to avoid the bash by laying down a free uncounterable guardbreak. Allow a window to counter during the dodge to allow players to escape this.
Coming from a Warlord main. Yes, I am aware I am trash for playing this character. No, I don't spam headbutt because that is a pathetic move
i don't think this is the answer, I've been pretty vocal about this problem and i believe the real problem here is the lack of risk on the part of the "basher" conqueror, warlord, warden, none of these characters can be punished on successful dodge by universal mechanics (GB), to me this is unacceptable I think the only one who should be exempt from this list is the warden cause of how slow his comes out although I wouldn't cry if it was punishable
