How to counter Warden Bash into guard break

How do you avoid getting bashed and guard broken? When I try to strafe it they get a free guard break if they are close enough, and if I try and backstep it they charge fully and get a free attack in.

Just play it safe and roll-back, and keep distance and keep the fight slow if the opponent's a heavy vortex user and don't believe that there are "counters" that Warden players tell you. It doesn't work.

The odds are, if you're at the level of human reflexes and skill to pull off those supposed "counters" Warden players tell you about, then you're probably in something like 0.05% of gamers and would be winning tourneys here and there... and you can be sure of that those Wardens that tell you about the "counters", usually can't do it themselves, and do as I've said above -- dump the situation and start new at further ranges.
I'm not in the Top 0.05% of Gamers, more like Top 20%, and I had massive problems with Vortex, too. But the solution (counter) is pretty simple, due to the nerf there are 3 possible situations:

    1. Warden is far away when he starts to charge the bash: wait what he does, if you see the Hyperarmor applied get ready to dodge the bash. Mostly they will cancel it, just wait it out! If they commit to the bash you have plenty of time to dodge it and you can punish them after.

    2. The Warden is close to you: now this is tricky and I am currently "relearning". If he does the sidestep - bash charge: IMMEDIATELY hit him with a Light Attack. This will cancel his bash and you can combo further.

    3. He hits you with a Light (mostly Top) and goes into Vortex Mode: well, here you are pretty fcked... I try to roll away asap to get into situation 1 again to reset the fight, then go into situation 2 again. Best way to avoid this: always guard your top side and try to react on ZA.

So if he is close up with you and starts the unblockable bash your only hope is to roll back to avoid a heavy attack and take a light attack instead?

So of everything in this game the warden has unavoidable damage? That seems kind of flawed, especially considering how unnatural it feels to perform that combo.

Everything is avoidable though, but if a warden starts a charge on you and you arent far enough away its free damage. No other class have unavoidable damage at all.

Holy HELL I just got stunlocked for my entire health because I was exhausted. Literally I was at full health and a warden just spam bashed and double attacked me like 5 times until I died. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO FIGHT THAT? THIS IS TOTAL ********

Cant run because Im exhausted, and I dont regenerate stamina while the combo is going on so its a death sentence as long as they keep pressing the specific buttons needed.

Seriously I need answers on this. How are these impossible combos still in the game after 4 months of balancing?

If I roll back they wait until I finish the roll and just charge forward with it, getting a free bash and light attack out of the transaction. Literally the only way to counter it is to light attack to interrupt it and if you dont hit before they start moving its not gonna work.
