It would fit right in and I'm sure your art peeps would have a blast with the wings

I came here to make a snarky comment, but I like your idea.

By all accounts they were pretty badass, and look super cool.

Only downside I can see is weren't they mostly a mounted force? Like a charging Calvary type?

Now THAT is a sweet idea, HeroUndaunted! As a knight myself, I'd love to see myself or a teammate roll onto the battlefield in armor like that.
