New Gear Rarity. Who will open crates before rep 5

New gear rarity will require rep 5 and i belief everyone will level all the way to rep 5 than start opening crates and than upgrade the new epic gear.
Our heroic gear is worthless now and can be throw into the trashbin.
Who will open lootbox before rep 5?
    Crazy grinding to rep 5.

If you don't play more then 1-2 classes then there's no problem with finding gear. Of course you have to have some patient but I see that it's really easy to get every skin that there is in this game. I had most skins before I had rep 5. I did open chests even before rep 3. So I don't see problem with 5 limit because there are plenty of ways to get steel, crates or even skins directly after matches.

why would someone open crates before rep 5 which give low rarirty gear and upgrade them and once hit rep 5 throw them away for epic gear, waste steel and mats.

Because if you don't grind or just play normally there's no need to rush and by extend there is plenty of time to get crates for each gear level. For example I did open crates before rep 3 because I wanted to try and get some other skins then default ones. And even with that in mind I still get 5 right now. But remember - this only applies to the situation where you don't play too many classes. I play only as Nobushi right now so I don't have to spend both steel and crates on other classes. If you need to give all stuff to many characters at once then it's harder of course but still if you're not in rush mindset then it's perfectly fine.

i want to max all character. My samurai characters are all max with 108. on the way making lawbringer which going to reach rep 3 but i faint when hearing new gear stats and must be rep 5 for epic gear.
once season 2 out i am going for ninja for sure but when i think of playing ninja tell rep 5 is killing me. i am willing to spent real money on steels. but i feel so wasteful for my 4 other samurai classes. all the 108 heroic gear is useless.

Devs said they they change the way exp gain works so it should be easier to get first reps and then harder to get higher rep. I don't know how much harder and from what rep level.
From what I see you have problem because you want max out everything...and that will force you to grind in order to get enough steel (or buy with real money). So in your case opening crates to soon is in fact waste of resources. It's not problem for people like me that don't care so much for this 108 thing but more for looks of my char. That's why I said that the idea of opening crates below rep 5 depends of way of playing.

They are upgrading the Grey and blue gear. This way newer players or new heroes are not at such a big disadvantage. ill likely be getting crates at rep 1 since that gear could possibly last me until rep 5. That is if I even get there with some people. Rep 1 is easy, I may just rather have a bunch of people id like to play at rep 1+ all with decent gear, than focus on 1-2 guys and spend all my steel/crates on them. Eventually ill get there, but it sounds like you wont have as much of an issue against full geared people if youre in greys/blue.
