    What I don't get about people ...

After a long time, I decided to turn text chat ON again after several weeks and guess what.. I got growled at before the match even started, lol. Something about "oh, I bet he will play his zerker like a PK and light spams all over the place." Just 5 secs text chat is on and I'm already sick of it again.

Whats wrong with you (not all, but the most) people? Do you enjoy spreading negative bs all the time so much? Are you all in such an urge to train your verbal quick-wittedness in insulting oother people as fast as you can or provoke them for no reason in order to get some satisfaction?

If I'm high rep, I have no life, if I win, I am a bad player with no skill and guess what, if I lose I am a noob with no skill. What category do you see yourself in, I never found out, what makes you the perfect player, exept that you are pretty good in always findin new ways to annoy the crap out of everybody else?

I am so sick of it, sick of your absolutely negative, aggressive and imho absolutely senseless attitude and behaviour.. have I missed the life-lesson, that as a gamer I have to be like that to call myself a gamer? Am I too sensitive about all that? Am I wrong by treating "random online people" the same way I treat people in real life or want to be treated myself?

Please tell me, maybe we can work something out, because I did nothing that justifies all of that hate that I earn everytime I give the "text chat" another chance.

btw: Thanks, Ubi, for implementing one of my most beloved features in For Honor.

Sorry for the rant, I just had to. Over and out.

You are completely right. Disabled my Text Chat now, too. Sick of all the hate. I have fun in this game, if I lose it's ok, I do not feel to rant all the time. I feel sorry for those people.

    I agree, great post.

I'm wondering how many of the playerbase is actuelly 18+ (PEGI classifications), cause there is a lot immature behavior (Indiscriminate, arrogant, expressions that point to no good parenting education, or behavioral characteristics that express themselves on egocentric and narsist traits) in game but also on the forms.

It's always tempting to blame the kids. Comforting even. The very sad truth is that a lot of the worst behaviour comes from fully grown adults (physically at least) in their 20's and 30's.

As a Psychology student I can say that's possible true. Development of adolescents stops around 24/26 years max. I don't have the stats for in game but if what your pointing is true is really a shame.

Yes, more or less I'm hoping that's this more the case, at least you could then have a good explanation and understanding, seeeing the same behavior from an adult in a game it's just shamefull.

What I don't get is how trash talk got so demonized over the years. You don't remember playing people trash talking while playing basketball or something? Every once in a while someone would take it serious and maybe a fight would break out but most of the time people just trash talked back. That's probably been going on since the dawn of sports. Aztec kids were probably trash talking playing that hip volleyball thing they had.

Maybe online anonymity makes it worse, on both ends, but honestly just turn off chat again if it bothers you so much. It's probably easier to lash out when you're sore over losing when you're anonymous.

I know what you mean, and I can understand that it is fun to mock or poke your real life opponents with a winking eye, we all do that, but we (or at least I) make sure to let the other person know, that I didn't mean it that serious. But what I am experiencing in online games recently is more than poking and joking with a wink. It's plain insulting and provoking, and I don't feel the fun behind it to throw something adequate back.

It feels like shopping in the same mall together with many strangers and someone at the same place like you turns over to you and yells a big fat "a***ole" in your face without any facial expression, that marks this action as "just fun". If that's the definition of trash talk, and trash talking is something, that other people do really enjoy, then.. well.. I got raised the wrong way - Blame my parents - or I don't get the entertainment behind it.

Edit: What I want to add is, that I am not the youngest player around I guess, and over the years from my childhood over my teenager time until my adult life I always had here and then some thoughts about the decay of decency and courtesy around myself. It is not something that we have to accept or we are too old for.. I can differentiate between things I am really to old for to understand and things that are plain wrong. And the way people and especially younger people treat each other nowadays is imho a major problem of our community around the world.

I hope that everyone you love and you take care will die on cancer and die by very slow death."

I almost never see this sort of thing.
Usually it's silent. Sometimes there are a couple salty players, but not too often. I have good interactions more often than not to be honest.
