Penalty for not using factions heros(50% war assets)

I think it is kind of defeating the point of the game that you can use an enemy factions heros to help your faction win the war.

"Vikings" won the first war, but more then half of them use heros from other factions, meaning Vikings didn't win ****, mercenaries did.

I am willing to concede that people should be able to use any hero they want, BUT you should only receive 50% of the war assets when using a hero that does not belong to your faction, it would only be fair, and we could see which faction is truly winning.

someone on these forums suggested a faction based game mode, sounded like an alright idea if implemented right. could be a way to make faction wars more interesting

Its hilarious and annoying all the people including the guy that hosts the warriors den "yay we vikings won!" Etc etc but states he plays a PK. i very much agree. Vikings probably didnt win if people got less for not playing chars from their faction. GREAT IDEA!

Then players would all choose the faction with the current top tier characters. The game has to be completely balanced before.

But after balancing is correctly done: yes please!

Never in the history of gamming has there been a balanced game that has more than one character. It has never happened...ever

The only way to "balance" This game would be to remove every single class but one, and make everyone play him. That's balance.

Back to reality, since each faction has a few OP classes as it is, taken from a faction standpoint the game is fairly balanced already.

So since the falacy of balance is no longer on the table we should prioritize this before the next war.

Again: if the game isn't balanced: no.

Yes please! too many people mixing and matching.

    Who did I chose?
    Samurai.
    Who did I main?
Shugoki, till I got hooked on the orochi.

I didn't play another factions heros till we lost the faction war, and I see people playing all sorts of heroes with the awarded ornaments, and emblem outlines.

It honestly killed the faction war for me.
It made it less interesting, and meaningful.

But here's the problem, What if somebody likes the memes of the faction but doesn't like the character?

    Checkmate atheists.

While I like and agree with the idea, I'm not sure how Ubi could do that and balance the factions. If people chose factions based on their mains, wouldn't Knights take a huge advantage since they are seemingly the most played heroes in the game? I wouldn't be upset if I were forced into playing for a particular faction so long as I could play any character as my main, but if I was forced into playing for a specific faction because of the main I chose I'd be quite annoyed. I mean, assuming Centurion will be classified as a Knight, and Shinobi as a Samurai, if I was a Warlord main I'm already at a huge disadvantage in that the other two factions have 5 heroes being played vs the Vikings 4. If I mained Warlord but fought for the Samurai, and my value is only worth 50% to my faction, then I'm being penalized for that too. Seems problematic.
