So im 98 % sure, that i parryed but i dont push the enemy to the side as normal when parrying.... are some attacks inparryable ? those arent unblockables. its normal attacks. i often get this when fighting orochis.
Parry is bad today because the high reward (in my opinion just because the guaranteed gb), but this game can't survive without parry. More infuriating than an enemy who can parry lights is an enemy who don't parry at all. Now an enemy parrying lights still can be managed and fooled.
Parry just need reward based on how easy it is, without punish the attacker for a so basic action. And block needs some cost, to give parry a reason.
Exactly OP, the parry/turtle meta is the main reason the game feels boring after a while.
Turtling with an orochi for example, makes you totally boring toplay, because all you need to do is blocking all, top light and zone attack
FInd a class that can pull out easy damage. Turtle, and you will win easily a lot of 1v1, not all, because would be impossible, but definetely a lot.
Devs have already said they are nerfing the defense, we do not know how, I hope before putting new chaacters, or will be a complete mess, then. Because more characters, more ummbalancing problems

Then you have classes like LB that rely heavily on light parry, because of blind justice, considering against heavy it cannot be feinted, and its parried 100% of the times. Thats why imho they won't nerf defence wthout breaking again some classes, if not all of them
