It did a fair bit in fact.

    ---

Shoulder Bash cancel timing into Guard Break reduced to 300ms before end of startup (from 100ms before end of startup).
Uninterruptible Stance timing on fully-charged Shoulder Bash startup reduced by 100ms in order to match the revised Guard Break cancel timing.
Cancelling Shoulder Bash into Idle now causes a 200ms recovery with no defense (Wardens used to cancel out of Shoulder Bash instantly into Idle).
The fully-charged visual and audio effects, will now only play once the cancel window is closed.
Non-charged Shoulder Bash recovery on Miss increased to 800ms (from 700ms)
[Bug Fix] Fixed an issue causing the Warden to spin around on hit with Shoulder Bash
[Bug Fix] Shoulder Bash ability to bump external target no longer overlaps with locked target

Developer comments: Warden’s Shoulder Bash was cancellable by Guard Break very late, allowing Wardens to wait for the enemy to dodge and then get a free Guard Break. We want Wardens to put a lot of pressure on their opponent with this move, but we don't want them to have such an advantage that they can force a response, react to the response, and punish the response. Now, the opponent can wait to dodge the Shoulder Bash until after it could still be cancelled into a Guard Break, but that window is intentionally very short to try to force players to have to make a read on each other, rather than simply reacting. Wardens still have a lot of power to choose what to do after initiating Shoulder Bash, but will have to commit more.

    ---

Wardens now have to commit to charging rather than waiting to see if their opponent dodges, if they cancel into idle they are punishable, if they miss it is more punishable. I'm not a warden main by any stretch of the imagination but while I freely admit they are one of my harder matchups because my distance closer it a top attack, quality of life facing them has improved vastly since they couldn't wait for me to dodge to get an unblockable guardbreak.

    Warden 1.06 changes:
    Warden
-Shoulder Bash cancel timing into Guard Break reduced to 300ms before end of startup (from 100ms before end of startup).
-Uninterruptible Stance timing on fully-charged Shoulder Bash startup reduced by 100ms in order to match the revised Guard Break cancel timing.
-Cancelling Shoulder Bash into Idle now causes a 200ms recovery with no defense (Wardens used to cancel out of Shoulder Bash instantly into Idle).
-The fully-charged visual and audio effects, will now only play once the cancel window is closed.
-Non-charged Shoulder Bash recovery on Miss increased to 800ms (from 700ms)

-[Bug Fix] Fixed an issue causing the Warden to spin around on hit with Shoulder Bash
-[Bug Fix] Shoulder Bash ability to bump external target no longer overlaps with locked target

I think the new recovery time changes should have mostly addressed the spam issues you've brought up.

It did nothing. Warden can still spam his vortex for as long as he wants, and you still need to guess. The correct nerf would have been to remove the cancel into GB from the shoulder bash. No other hero can do what he does. Nobushi can't cancel her kick into a GB, Conqueror can't cancel his shield bash into a GB, Valkyrie can't cancel her sweep into a GB etc.

    That's simply not true.

I've played warden and valkyrie so honestly I laugh that you think the valkyrie's cancel heavy-shield bash-trip-heavy-shield bash-trip-heavy is fine but the guardbreak cancel needs to go. As for nobushi, she has range and bleed over the warden. And to be clear, I am not complaining that the valkyrie or nobushi have those, I just think what the warden has is a fair equivalent. Every hero has their own tools to play with and the 50/50 off the shoulder bash is the warden's.

Because the sweep is reactable and you can dodge it. Warden is the only hero in this game with a true 50/50 where you have to guess what he's going to do. I've also noticed that since the recent patch, shoulder bash comes out much faster, to the point where I can't even stop it with a fast light. To fix Warden, they need to either remove the cancel into GB, or tweak it in a way to where it is reactable like the Lawbringer's shove for instance.
