Sugestion: let us buy cosmetics from elite/mythic outfits individually in S2 | Forums

suggest that at the start of each season, all of the elite/mythic outfits from the previous season have their cosmetics unlocked for individual purchase ( for example, buying just the ornament or just the paint pattern from a certain outfit). maybe even with something like a 10% increase in price if you buy it individually. i know that doing the math, the mythic outfits are actually a bargain for the content they provide, but maybe you're just interested in the ornament, and the effects and patterns and color scheme don't interest you. by releasing the cosmetics from the previous season as standalone purchases at the start of the next, it allows players to customize their heroes with the stuff they wanted from the outfits, but without having to pay extra steel for stuff you never want to use. also, it would keep the whole "exclusive" idea of the outfits for that season until the next one arrived. thoughts?

I like the idea. Some of the items in the set i like. Others i think look stupid. Good idea except the higher cost. The sets imo are too much as is.

yeah, i wasn't sure about the cost, but each set contains 3 effects (idle, execution,emote) which are 5000 each, an ornament which probably is at least 5000, and 3 paint patterns and symbols, so the set price is a discount.

What about people who grinded to get the steel for those outfits already though? People shouldn't be able to pick and choose the best parts of all the outfits that other people paid full price for. That's just my opinion.

i understand that point of view, but that argument would unfortunately invalidate any future sales, discounts, steel gains, etc. for example, if they made a sale week where emotes were 20%, that argument would defend that anyone who bought emotes before that sale wasted 20% more steel than the others. it's why i sugessted that only the outfits released in the previous season had their individual cosmetics unlocked, so that a long time had passed and there wouldn't be as much a feeling of being wronged. sure, it sucks when a better deal arrives that makes a previous purchase bad, but it might make future purchases better as well. it's also why i suggested the minor increase in price, so that buying the outfits was still a valuable decision, and so that it would only be a cheaper purchase if you bought one item, so that if you tried getting over half of the content of the outfit individually, it would be more expensive than buying the entire outfit.

They are only cosmetic though, season 2 doesn't really have any bearing in why it should go on sale, if people think something looks cool and want it, it doesn't matter what season it's from.

I only bought 1 outfit so far and it was 7000 steel, all I wanted was the ornament, but paid the whole thing. I hardly ever see anyone with the same one. If this happens people will just buy all the ornaments for all those outfits. The odd paint emblem as well.

Point being, the way it is now makes it so the 7000 and 15000 steel outfits are rare to an extent and the majority of people don't have a lot of them that I've seen.

It depends on the price. Take the raider thunder mythic (name escapes me). I like the head ornament, that's all. For 15k you get three 5k animations, one 5k ornament, and some paint crap I'll just throw in for free. Essentially you save 25% for the bundle. I think selling them individually for 7500 steel would be fair, which also effectively increases your savings to 50%.
