I don't know if many people noticed that, but this is a hell of a nerf for Legendary / Heroic incursions.Fixed a bug with Ballistic Shield when using 4 piece D3-FNC where the mod bonuses would still apply despite what the Gear Set talent states.
Some points to be noted, in order to be able to "tank" the following points were mandatory :
- The 3x D3-FNC bonus, +30% shield health
- The "reactive" mod
--> my humble D3-FNC build with 150 SP had a 1.300.000 reactive mod shield, now with w3 patch my shield HP is down to 860.000, so basically a TTBK reduced by 33%
My understanding of this, is that the "shield build" in legendary will switch from 4x D3FNC to something like 3x D3FNC / ressourceful backpack / bliss holster / decisive gloves
I really think that the "+30% shield health" was imho a bad idea because a huge bonus means toning down every possible tank builds based on other sets to avoid über meta.
So I suggest a reduction from +30% to +15% of the 3x D3FNC bonus, and an increase of the shield damage resistance in PvE
those mods haven't been working in the live game in forever. at least i've never seen them working and i use that set all the time.
RIP shield builds in PvE. Stolen signal is impossible now without reactive shield.
The bonus abilities of the mods aren't working but the statistics for its characteristics are. I tested out reacting and no mod vs Chains. Active lasted way longer. Tested the assault mod in the firing range, it hits harder and didn't last as long against Chains as the active did. D3 is wrecked on pts for high level group pve content now, solo seems unaffected.
You have 1 choice as a D3 smg user now, go all in shield health mods [7%] and high skill power but you have to lose 16% [ 4x4%] of your dps to achieve this.
I've gone from a 2mill hp shield to a 1.3 mill hp shield@225k skill power on pts and in legendary content it's a joke. The only way to mitigate the loss is to remove shield damage mods and fit health mods gimping my dps severely.
So instead of being able to take a punch and and punch back I'm now just a walking punch bag.
Massive if you're reading this at least buff the out of combat/fire shield recovery time, give us something back.
edit- I was able to solo Warrengate Legendary to the timed section but quit at that point the timer would have beaten me, not the npc's so I quit.
290/240/225 stats.
Shield strength at 1.93mill hp. I had to repeatedly move into to cover to recharge the shields hp bar and used all my med kits.

He is using the Assault shield mod (live game) which only has around 800K health with his stats.
His shield will NEVER go down for 2 simple reason:
He is wearing a vigorous vest and he is running a ressourceful backpack.
Both of those items enable him to profit from my strong Defribrillator which does 450K ally heal when not charged and 550K when fully charged at 500K skillpower.
My Defib heals his shield by 1/4 the time I hit him and another 1/4 in the next 10 seconds, so it is healed for half of its HP.
I can do this every 10 seconds, let alone anyone else that migh shoot a heal. Even his own heal heals him for over 200K.
He can stay in the middle of most fights without having the need to retreat and his shield barely goes below half at all.
There are some occasions where his shield gets killed by an NPC Agent with melee attacks as those do a massive amount of damage to the shield. So when he gets staggered by them his shield will break at some point.
With the new update he will loose 10% of damage but gain 1/3 shield HP. Meaning it will be even easier to tank enemy fire.

A shield on pts right now at that low amount skillpower will get shredded in both heroic and legendary content.
150k sp@800k HP will see a huge reduction in strength.
Having an organised group on comms is fine for the minority, however most players pug. Ask your friend to log into pts with his build and solo Warrengate Legendary mode. Then post back with his findings. I'll bet he's not happy.
I'm not advocating that solo players should be able to easily complete Legendary content but they should should be able to carry their weight..
ok im not getting what you are saying for some reason. i've been using this set for a long time on ps4 and using the different mods to see which i like better. the first one gives you the most resistance but only 5% damage boost (that's it). the second one gives you the least amount of resistance but 20% damage boost (that's it) and the third gives the middle resistance but only a 10% boost (that's it).Originally Posted by Masenku Go to original post
with the set on i have never received the shield mod benefits in theory or practice. it never pulsed or healed of did anything when you had the set on. they turned off those functions a long long time ago on the ps4. i've tested this set to the max and have never had those benefits proc no matter what version of the shield i took.
so are you trying to tell me on the PC or the PTS those mods WERE active?
