mmmh.... maybe is an incentive for us to attack instead of play defensive XDOriginally Posted by DrExtrem Go to original post
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KfKaxdX5WqE i watch this video and he speak about reducing the buff of an enemies![]()
I'm not really sure how reducing 20% by 50% = 5%, but the idea is that it directly counters the defence stat.
https://youtu.be/GxH5iUutSEo?t=1734 (I don't think the timestamp worked in the above vid)
I am fairly certain it penetrates whatever value of defense they have by whatever the total armor penetration is.
The point of the stat is to allow newer players to kill naturally tankier higher level/geared players.
It also is the counter to people who stack max defense on already tank/defensive characters.
It will actually be LESS valuable against squishies, because it's a % based penetration.
If someone has 100 defense, and you have 50% penetration, you are ignoring 50 defense.
If they have 20 defense, you are ignoring 10 defense.
Of course, they have 20 defense. You are already going to do very good damage to these people.
It's basically a great stat for a new character to actually stand a chance against a gear score 90+ when you are in grey or blue gear, and when you have high gear score yourself, a decent stat for a DPS based class to consider to kill fatties who refuse to die.
Or for a tank to bust another tank.
It'll either be a great blessing or a ridiculous DPS stat. We'll see.
The whole stat just seems pointless.
All they needed to do was buff the attack stat to even it out. At max, attack gives +20% while defence is +30%. Should have made attack +30% instead.
The choice is between attack, defence penetration and block damage. Everyone knows block damage is completely useless so most, if not all players will max defence penetration, followed by attack. Block damage will be the dump stat.
If defence penetration is as good as it seems, then it may not even be worth investing in defence at all depending on how good it is. I'm probably one of the few people who aren't hyped for the new stats. Players will still have a favourite dump stat and if not, they will all go for the all-round stat armour. There is still going to be a lack of build diversity because there is a lack of stats to choose from. Ubisoft got rid of good stats like feat cooldown and sprint speed yet kept useless ones like block damage and execution health regen etc.
It's a lot clearer if you give the guy some leeway with his pronunciation and assume that he meant 15 instead of 50, he is only one phoneme off. In that case it's easy math, defenders def-bonus minus the attackers penetration.Originally Posted by Egotistic_Ez Go to original post
That could be it I suppose. Honestly I just assumed he was making the example up on the fly and made a simple error. Either way, it gets across how the stat works.Originally Posted by Halvtand Go to original post
