I know everyone who has played this game has been in one or more situations in which they are the last one left fighting against 4 other opponents. Has anyone successfully won a 1v4 or have gotten close? I've only been able to win 1v3 and in a 1v4 kill 3.
Oddly there's a rush, being outnumbered, knowing your fallen teammates whom have disappointed you, are watching you so you can show them how to really fight, and the moment you get revenge, parry all 4 people at once knocking them to the ground you feel like a raid boss and after now those 4 people who thought you were an easy kill now are hesitating to step forward because they know the second they step into your sphere of influence they risk dying.
As much as i hate having inexperienced teammates and fighting against coordinated premades pulling out an upset and nearly killing them all is such rush that easily becomes addicting. Sure fighting one person could be difficult but what about another... and another... and another. Guess I'm a glutton for punishment or an adrenaline junky.
Used to pull it off a bit more frequently back before the Revenge Nerf as a Peacekeeper, however it's near suicidal now adays. Especially since the Offensive and Defensive benefits of revenge no longer stack with the offensive and defensive benefits afforded to weapons outside of revenge. It allowed for quickly finishing off opponents. Which in an outnumbered situation you would need to go for quick kill-strikes to be able to overcome numbers like that.
More frequently I pulled off 1v3's, I still do on occasion but not without some aggravation.
Well the game has some design flaws. The best player in the world can't win a 2v1 against 2 players who know what they are doing. The fact that 1 player can just spam GB while the other guy LA everytime the outnumbered guy has to CGB makes it pretty tough.
I can still win 4v1s pretty easy if the other team is spread out or really bad in a random dominion que since the avg skill lvl is fairly low. But no chance in competitive play.
I think it depends a lot on your class.
I've managed to pull off a 1v4 with the PK, abusing the stupid mobility, light spam and revenge, and i've seen a lot of Wardens and Warlords that seem to thrive in group fights, even with the revenge nerf. The Conq used to do well, but I barely see them at all anymore. The Valk has a chance with the chain knowkdowns, but she's vulnerable to the rest of the team as she does it.
I main the Shug though, and he has an obese snowball's chance in hell of winning against more than two competent players.
Well that's not necessarily true about spamming gb. he can probably get away with doing it once and would get cgb. if it's obvious he keeps trying it the solo guy just has to start hitting him with lights. I'll admit it's difficult but I wouldn't say impossible especially using the tactic you mentioned.Originally Posted by cragar212 Go to original post
I also find that the best way to use revenge nowadays is more as a way to stop them from attacking you. If you have it but don't activate it many are very apprehensive about attacking you. They go on the defensive and try to back dash away. Capitalize on them being passive and get a few hits in before they get impatient and actual attack you then pop it.
Don't get me wrong it's still very difficult but it can be done even against decent players
Post revenge nerf I think I've 1v4ed once as my raider (not counting one after the other where combat doesn't drop). It's mainly about positioning. If you can stay at the side so only a couple of enemies are in range you can whittle them down. Sometimes a bad enemy will even help out and attack their allies from behind lol.
The other guy just starts spamming GB. Its not tough. There are multiple 4v4 tournaments tournaments tomorrow just watch one for 10minutes to see what I am saying.Originally Posted by Antonioj26 Go to original post
I'll take you up on that, if you are hitting one guy with lights you still can't be gb, proper spacing is also important. Like I said it's definitely difficultOriginally Posted by cragar212 Go to original post
Before the revenge Nerf I could with my prestige 3 berserker. I actually got lucky and got both axe heads with the white star glad I didn't scrap them I just found out yesterday that they were legendary. But since the Nerf I've been using the nobushi and can't seem to kill the first 3 before the 4th gets to me. BTW i play For Honor on the PS4
