Why is GS even a thing in a SKILL BASED game? and now you're gonna increase the GS even further when people have already dumped boat loads of steel into characters to get 108 GS with stats they want. If that wasn't enough they're also gonna change the stats around on the gear you already have. Better cross your fingers and hope the stats you need are left unchanged or the stats you have maxed out are changed into the stats you want. Furthermore, it doesn't help that chests are completely random making the gear grind a even bigger steel dump. Imagine if Overwatch, Street Fighter or Mortal Combat made you grind out 60+ levels on individual characters just to play a MAJORITY of their game modes competitively.... no? neither can I.
Whats even worse is we all know 3 months down the line they will come out with another GS increase and call it "Legendary". Ubisoft is trying real hard to sell microtransactions, kinda sad considering here in Canada the base game full price is 79.99 with abysmal content and majority of the modes having GS. I hope Ubisoft reimburses me my 20k steel I dumped into my characters gear... Who am I kidding? instead they will charge us 15k steel each for the new characters on top of increasing the GS and messing with the gear we already put steel into.
How is it the changing of stats and gear score is new to you guys?
Have you never played
- Witcher
- Diablo
- WoW
- Destiny
- Any RPG in existance
- Fallout 3, 4, or New Vegas
ALL of those games require you to constantly keep renewing your equipment and stats for the next best thing. How is this a new concept that upsets you? lol
All but 3 of the games you listed aren't even multiplayer lol. But think about it this way. Many people invested actual money, or just steel in general to get purple gear maxed out. Now they come out with new loot that you need to spend more of that one since you can't just upgrade your old stuff. So now you need to buy more crates, and invest to upgrade that new gear. Making all the previous investments on your gear a complete waste essentially.Originally Posted by CoyoteXStarrk Go to original post
Obviously not a total waste sincve you used that gea rin the meantime, but this method of siphoning out more steel/money from players just screams greasy and scabby AF.
Maybe if they produced actually desirable cosmetics instead of the 80% garbage ornaments and useless outfits then people would be more inclined to spend steel. Or more executions and better effects. Like Butterflies, swarm, and fireflies? Who is the head of the department in charge of this ****?
Out of your specific titles listed, I've actually played none of them...Originally Posted by CoyoteXStarrk Go to original post
Oddly enough, i actually have tons of rpg experience. The difference being, this isn't an rpg. Rpg elements? 100%. I get your argument, honestly i do, but i think this not being an rpg and being more in line with a fighter, i also get the people opposed to the gear stats...also most of the best gear choices in rpg's are the ones with realll minimal down sides stat wise. That's usually how it goes. Hit the next town, "hey this guy sells swords that surpass mine in every conceivable function."...is that not how rpg's work anymore? Legit question.

In fact I will literally be smiling and laughing when Season two actually gets here and the average player who doesn't pay attention to incoming changes gets a shock when he logs in and sees what has happened. Especially now that someone like me who has spent NO real money on Steel with a Rep 2 52 GS Beserker will be closer statwise to the person who simply boughtor AFK'd their way to 108 lol
They will come to the forums.
They will make long threads about how they payed real money in order to get their good gear and to win and how "Casuals" should not be allowed to be near them stat wise since they paid for their stuff.
Meanwhile the people who actually you know.....PLAYED THE GAME in order to get their steel and gear will be laughing and I too will be laughing hysterically in my Computer chair.
Not equivalent, but closer than it is now.Originally Posted by Sincerity117 Go to original post
Its a great change. That way people with max gear can't just stomp lower level people
