(But the numbers punchers upstairs never learn, Ah, modern bureaucracy of shareholders and braindead board of directors... ).It is also likely that FH would probably not recover from this initial letdown, and player numbers won't recover very highly. That being said, for me, it's 60 bucks well spent, and if this game pulls for another year, considering the short life-span of modern day games, I'd be content.

Besides, a significant factor that needs to be considered is, FH turned out to be something different than the hack&slash most people expected. Honest to god, the depth of the system, and difficulty of learning it, is on the levels of modern 3D fighting games.

Everyone (well, everyone I know) thought FH was going to be a hack&slash action game with third-person targeting system and some fighting game aspects with moves and attacks in a relaxed and easy manner, its target audience being the usual casual and light gamers.

    Hoo boy, I was wrong.

FH isn't a hack&slash fighting genre game with some fighting game elements as I thought..... FH IS a full-on fighting game -- a genre that is notorious for hellish levels of learning curves, brutal experience for beginners, quite low and poor accessibility and popularity to the modern day casual gaming audiences... but always forms a CULT following of devoted fans, small, minor numbers, but totally hard-core. If a fighting game can retain maybe 1/10th ~ 1/20th of player numbers a popular, casual, online action games have, then that's actually a good number.

I'm just surprised that a Western developer, not the usual Japanese developers you'd expect, came up with a combat system so well formed like this, and decided to make a REAL 3D fighting game -- honest to god folks, you don't see many good games in the fighting genre these days. Like, almost, never.

So despite all its flaws and mistakes, honestly, I'm impressed with FH and I like the game. It won me over. This is the first time a fighting game has got me hooked since I retired the arcade gaming, Tekken/VF scene around 2010.

Despite all the flaws, FH is something UbiMont should be proud of. The AoB combat system is very good.

It's a pity most people whining and throwing tantrums on this forum don't really know that.
I absolutly agree with you . I always wanted a game where skill would realy make difference . Games like tekken and so on were fun , but i ve never played them in high lvl ,only for fun . In this game iam challenging my self every match , sometimes even my heart starts pumping like crazy . For sure iam not playing as much as i did when the game came out . Its only natural after 200 hours , playing mostly only one character . Few friends that bought the game already uninstalled it but not because of DCs but because of rage . Its not a mainstream game in my opinion . Also concerning matchmaking . I have yellow NAT and the only time i ve waited more than a MINUTE for a game was a 4vs4 when game stat stated " low activity"

I don't know, i don't have hard numbers to back it but the ps4 community seems very much alive. I never run in to the same players, matchmaking is realllly quick and our gamefaqs board is very very active. For all i know its low by game standards but it at least feels like a good size player base. Xbox i couldn't say.

We don't know the numbers for consoles, because Ubisoft removed the player count because apparently we're not supposed to know such figures... No proper reason given, just fluff. We all know why it was removed, we all noticed the huge population drop and negative reviews when the game was released.

But on PC, it's indeed on it's last breath unless you play in a heavily populated region. Season 2 won't be reviving the numbers on PC, not for long anyway. The damage is done.

It would be a real shame if it can't sustain. This game is absolutely incredible. It blows my mind how much i love this, and its still so new.

Meh I'm sure it's budgeted for and will complete year one.

Don't think anyone expects much after that.

Only thing the host does in For Honor is manage chat and search for new players if someone leaves. For the actual gameplay mechanics there is no host...

what have i to read?? lol
Mp in p2p in 2017? are you mad?? if you can t afford to create a mp system, just copy from someon else
dropping 95% of logs in the first month and i have to read this?? it s a prank i hope.. i stopped playing because was unplayable, and, when 95% of people do the same, there is a problem.. but fan boys.. oh dear fan boys.. you can eat everything and still be happy.. this product wasn t finished yet
in the d1, on steam, there were 60k players.. 60k.. and now?? less than 3 thousand?
with the season 2 they are going to hope to see old players, and probably the'll do.. but, for how long?? a week??
i was touching the field before download it again and play.. i hope they have fixed some HEAVY ********, or i just play for one day and unistall again, and, like me, tons of players

all of you are still thinking that s a game for "few people"..the chosen one, instead to realize the reality, like the reddit guys did. IMO the fault, the biggest fault, comes from players, the elitè i guess: don t wanna accept the truth

i loved the idea, and gameplay.. but holy molly.. they should have sold the idea to someone else.. at this point this is my thought.. they are gambling on this new season.. they are gonna play all for all now

and btw, p2p is for early 2000, not for 2017. The servers cost, no doubt, but let you with 90% of logs after a month, not with 15%
    think about it

Can't speak for current numbers, but back when they had player counts on the social menu PS4 had over twice as many players as PC (not just steam, all PC) and xbone was a little over 1.5 times the PC player base. There's no reason to assume those numbers have dropped any faster than PC, in fact, given that consoles, especially ps4, are far more fighter friendly than PC they've likely dropped less.

You made a mistake buying this on PC I'm afraid. We may have some issues with light spam, but even my longest dominion search is only a couple of minutes, brawl and duel are 30secs at most.
