I heard about this game at E3 a few years ago and thought it looked alright. It looked like a cool game and worth giving a go, but I wasn't marking down Feb 14th on my calendar and counting down the days until its release. Before it's release, I noticed that the Open Beta was available for me to try on UPlay, so I downloaded that on the last day of the Beta and played it when I finished work that night. I've only ever pulled an "all-nighter" on one game ever, and the For Honor Open beta is that game. I quickly became swallowed by the intricate mechanics of the game and invested in my chosen characters, so much so that I called in sick to work the next day so I could play the last hours of the beta. That's how good I believed the game was.

Now I have a pretty strict no preorder diet that I adhere to. But I had to cheat and preorder For Honor. I had to. So Valentine Day comes along and For Honor is available to play. "Life was good" I thought to myself as I opened the customization screen and saw 3 new characters that weren't on the beta to try out. I jumped onto dominion matchmaking and I waited. And then everything went tits up.

The following 3 months of my For Honor life have been a combination of the worst matchmaking and multiplayer servers I've ever been a part of. That coupled with the abusing of overpowered gear, moves and heroes has added to my distress, not to mention silly game modes and the increasingly pointless "Faction War". Up till today, I've overlooked most of these problems and worked around them with a grimace on my face, until I've tried to launch the game today and it refuses to launch, citing me to delete some file in my C drive which does not even exist.

Maybe there's a solution to this problem. Maybe there isn't. I don't care. I don't believe in God, but I believe that he has given me a sign here to stop putting myself through the ********, through the multiple hours of wait time and face in hands moments. Thankyou jesus.

For Honor has left me feeling empty and with so many unanswered questions. What went wrong Ubisoft?? How does a game get worse from Open Beta to the full release? Why did you feel the need to save money on P2P servers? Why do you think nerfing everything will make the game enjoyable? Why are you bringing out new DLC before you actually fix the issues in the original game? Why is the Conqueror in the game? Why are all executions not the same length? Why is gear score in the game? Why are you charging us ridiculous amounts of steel for cosmetics? Why do we get very little steel? What's up with contracts vs A.I? How does the Faction War stay relevant after season 1? Why am I getting random fps drops? What is the point of executions for Valkyrie? Why is there not more free customization?

Sorry if these seems like a lot of *****ing but I'm over this. When did shipping unfinished games become a trend? Might have a quick glance at the game at the start of season 2, but in the meantime, i'd rather lie around and masturbate then put up with this **** for a second longer

Good read, pretty much sums up the game experience.
I'm in a love/hate relationship with the game right now, but I have a feeling pretty soon hate will prevail. Sad, because the game has enormous potential.

Comment on the fact that Valk is mostly light attack and sweep spam I think - no executions to be seen here.

Aaaah I seeee. Thank you! Well, that kinda makes more sense now I guess, although not true, I've executed lots of people with Valk. Also with Peacekeeper, and don't they only use lights too? Haha

What's so bad about the Conqueror? Just curious since he's the only Knight I play.

At the moment, I feel a lot is wrong with the conq. The nerfs have completely destroyed the conq to the point where the turtle meta is the only viable playing style. not to mention the new Knight character who also possesses a shield makes me wonder what this means for the conq. i mean, it's gotta be provide a different play style. Same with Shinobi/Orochi.

Correct. I want to get into Valk but I hate seeing the kills other valks get as the enemy is mid animation getting up. looks silly.



I want this game to succeed badly, and I know getting on the forums and complaining rarely helps anyone, but i feel like we are at the point where the game will die before changes start to happen, and thats just sad.
