    Parry light attack...

Ok you can parry heavys at the start now you can parry lights too and you want to stop turtle defensive play style? I don't think so even assassin's who supposes to be the most offensive class are playing full defence and only think they do is parry parry dodge

Offensive gameplay is not rewarded at all. That's the reason i left my orochi main

They have said on several dens they are looking to deal with the defensive meta.

I think they need to remove the party option on light attacks. To me a light attack is exactly that. A very limited strength attack which does not require as much effort as a heavy attack. Only be able to block the light.

It allows a free heavy, quit throwing out random trash lights and your chances of getting parried drops considerably, its much harder to parry a light than a heavy so it SHOULD BE more rewarding, especially on console. I think everyones guard should be like an assassins though, and when its dropped its dropped cuz as of right now an assassin doesnt even need to have active (silver) guard in order to parry, just needs to be in the right direction, i bait with it all the time. I think this is more a fishing game than a fighting game right now though, whoever has better bait or uses their bait better wins.

The guaranteed heavy from a parry isn't the problem. It's the free guard break then push off a ledge or into a spike wall for free kill that's more of the issue.

The problem with the defensive meta though is that it's just plain boring. Two skilled players basically end up staring at each other until someone gets bored and attacks and is immediately at a disadvantage. One or two hits afterwards. And it's back to the staring contest again. Unless of course someone got thrown of a ledge or into a spiked wall.

Don't know about you, but a game in which two players spend more time waiting for the other to get bored and twitch than spending time actually fighting sounds pretty damn boring to me.

The only saving grace really is that there are a lot of unskilled, impatient players who are more than happy to be at a huge disadvantage in a fight rather than spend half the match staring at the other player.

The irony is that a match between two unskilled players who don't know how to parry ends up being much more fun than two highly skilled players who can parry light attacks consistently, who basically staring at each other and maybe throwing out a couple of feints every few seconds until one of them gets bored.

In essence the parry mechanic makes the game more and more boring the higher up in skill level the players get.

Defending parry is pointless. The devs said last week they're going to nerf it. Accept that the turtle meta is going away (at least that's the intent) and wait for tomorrow's warrior's den for specifics (hopefully).
