I do not rage, I still wait for a good argumentation concerning my topic. If I get asked why PK has a defensive feat like Warlord, I reply with the question why the Warlord has to have a damage feat which even assassins do not have.
The argument "like i told you all of these Warlord feats are only good if you know how to play him.. if you play like crap it doesnt matter." is a joke, isnt it? Every class is crap if the player has no idea what to do. But this has no relation to the 4 passive super feats the Warlord gets.
To give an easy example: PK vs WL, both lvl 4 feats. I have to use both sharpen blade and defense debuff to kill the WL in a reasonable amount of time. Both my feats are temporary, WL has his passive all the time. Balance? Where?
A lot of feats in this game need to be looked at in general. Both Deadly as well as Flesh Wound give far too much value considering that they're only level 1 and 2 feats respectively and stay active permanently. They either need to put them in higher levels or have their values adjusted. Flesh Wound is definitely the worse offender of the two as 25 % permanent damage reduction is just ludicrous and pretty much every character would always pick that if it would be available to them.
Competitive players like Petemoo generally agree that you shouldn't ever lose a 1v1 as Warlord (apart from environmental kills) as soon as you have access to his first two feats just due to how much more your opponent needs to hit you vs how often you need to hit him. And that's not even considering Warlord's overall strength as a character where he has a favorable match up against anyone but Shinobi.
Another example of terrible balancing of feats would be Speed Revive vs Protected Revive. The first one is far superior to the second despite only being a level 1 instead of level 3 feat. Essentially, being able to revive someone in such short amount of time, where you can only stop it if you react instantaneously, is much better than giving a shield to the revived person if no one interrupted your revive.
Also Charmzzz, in 1v1s Warlord is generally considered Top 1, Shinobi and PK are about equal at 2 and 3, although it's hard to tell because Shinobi is still very newly released. Warden may come after those 3 but is considered significantly weaker, which also shows in his poor tournaments results. For 4v4s the tier list changes but Warlord is even better due to his insanely good feats together with more opportunities for environmental kills in combination with his outstanding omnidirectional throw distance.
What kind of "reply" is that? If you get asked why PK has a denfensiv feat you answer is why does other Heros have offensive feats?!? Dafuq?Originally Posted by Charmzzz Go to original post
Why does Warlord has such OP Feats (btw. you can use revive only use 1-2x in Dominion cuz of the big Cooldown so keep calm).... my reply: Why not? ... problem solved? According to the Devs Warlord is very good balanced ..maybe they will nerf the op cliff throw distance.. so thats how it is.. we all have to deal with it and yes even me who need a lot more effort with my Valk to kill a Warlord then you. (cuz Valk laks some dmg but i can handle that)
until, Centurion and Nobushi came along.
I was a counter attack style, not super aggressive like I see it played often. A lot of light attacks, parries and patience.
I can't do anything against these new classes. I set my controller on the coffee table, wait for their what feels like 25 move barrage to end, and then try again.
I hate asking advice. I like to figure things out for myself, having my own style play. I don't just copy the Meta, I've always wanted to find my own style to counter what everyone else is doing, not just follow along. --- but at this point, I feel like I'm wasting my time. I can still have good games in Dominion by playing smart, but 1 v 1 I feel worthless and don't even see any opportunity at this point vs the new classes.
thoughts from any fellow Warlords?
Well as a fellow Warlord i have something for you
First play the Nobushi and Centurion (didn't you mean Shinobi?). Get to know there move set so you know what you can expect.
In 1v1 Centurion is dodgeable, his kick you can punish with the Gb after the dodge. His lights are fast dunno what to do with them, I usually try to block them. Then you have heavies, learn to parry them especially the unblockable one it's only timing. Needs training thats all. In 4v4 or Nv1 situations be aware of him still a pain in the ***, ones you are down you are good as dead. Run or hold long enough for your teammate to support you.
Nobushi is hard for Warlord. She is quick and ranged, Warlord is a closequater fighter, you need to get to her. Close. Her heavies are easily parriable and her lights with a training as well. I hate that hero for having bleed damage. Just my thought, When you are close throw her somewhere or try Warlord's mixups.
Shinobi is very quick. But you have hyperarmor on heavies. Soon as shinobi tries to kick you start top heavy it will land. Your Top Heavy is one of the quickiest in the game use it. in double dodge you an gb Shinobi thats free top heavy or push. You can also dash his kisks. When Shinobi charges his heavy look at his second hand, It moves in the direction he intends to strike. If he tries to gb you from a far you need to counter thet or you are in for y masssive damage,
Thats all i can think off right now. Hope it will help you. You need to know your enemy, play those heroes as well.
This is a Thread concerning Warlord Balance, not helping Turtle-Warlord Players find their way back to true OPness.
So Metal4.theCore, what do you think about the Warlord now? Balanced? How come he is so dominantly picked in the Tournament, won alot of Tournaments lately and is still considered Top Tier?
Have a look here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vN5ViLxZEVU
Yes, the Warden won (also Top Tier Champ), but do you see what the problem with WL is? Headbutt spam, hard and fast Zone, Full-Block, out of guard mode running push into guaranteed heavy, superior block on lights, superarmor on heavys, in the whole video there was nothing else the Warlords used. Only those moves. They didn't even parry, they just relied on having the superior hero.
scumlord neerds to be taken down to other heroes level that **** is wayy too good now.
-headbutt needs to be slower.
-zone needs to be a light or slower
-throw distance needs to be reduced ALOT
And what should he have? Lights? Parry, heavy? Parry, zone? Block, its not that hard. Headbutt?when you are not near a cliff you will be fine. Full block stance? Parry the heavy or wait, its not difficult. Perfect block of lights? you will block that usually. So what should I do against somebody? because people usually block the parry attack, there is nearly nothing i can do against them. so tell me, WHAT SHOULD HE HAVE WHEN NOT THIS?
Ok, so you need Hyperarmor on Heavy, Superiour Block on Light, Full Block Stance, a superfast spammable unblockable WITH A GUARANTEED Light after, the best throw in the game, the best feat combination in the game, a heavy hitting and fast zone attack AND a guaranteed heavy after parry/guardbreak? Don't you see this is over the top? Better moveset than any other hero? No?Originally Posted by Hiyaldur Go to original post
As I seed parry the heavy and puff the hyperarmor is gone, its one of the slowest in the game , now superior block, common you are a peacekeeper every time when a WL manage to do this you will probably block that, its difficult as **** to make it properly, usually its not worth it, full block stance - you cant do anything to you as long as you are prepared for the heavy, the spam- doge or just wait, he needs to hit you 3 times to take one bar of your health, feats- and what would you want to see in his feats? shugos ,,Rock Steady" or ,,Hard to kill"? Or maybe conq ,,heal on block"? I dont think so. throw- its difficult to throw properly, expect when you are on a brig then you so or so by thrown off. Heavy hitting- you are kidding right? he hitts as as all of the heavy classes, shugo still hilts harder. The heavy and the light after a parry are not guarantee, after a gb the top heavy is because, I think all expect pk, heave a guarantee heavy. Best moveset? Nope, the best moveset hes the cent in gank situations. An the last think ,,over the top" ekm *fanfare* NO. it i think that was everything when not I'm sure you will find it.
