Do I really even need to elaborate on this? The 'nerfs' haven't gone far enough and they are still clearly a cut above the others.
I think the Warlord changes also could have gone a bit further.
Will be interesting to see if the stats Ubi look at warrant further changes to these characters.
If you do anything else to the PK then you might as well remove her from the game.
The warlord nerfs are debatable, but he is FAR less intimidating as he was before.
So my recommendations are as follows:
PK
- Learn to block
- Her #1 opener is the dash overhead so keep your block stance at the top
- She is gonna go for the Guard Break ALOT so be ready for the counter
- Her R1 spam is cancer so be ready for a GTFO dodge roll
Warlord
- 90% the attacks that Warlords throw out are overheads so keep your guard at the top.
- They will obviously be looking for the Guard Break so they can shove you over edges or up against walls so be ready for the counter
- They will want to trade you to death so do not be reckless with your attacks because in the end they will win that kind of fight
Other than that you just need help from teammates. Not everything needs to be nerfed into the ground in order to be balanced. Sometime its you as a player that needs to catch up.
Compared to Kensei, Conqueror, OG Valk, Shugoki nerfs yeah they got off easy.
But Warden/PK are likely some of the most played heroes, so they didn't want to run off players with substantial nerfs.
The reason more nerfs aren't necessary is they are looking at overhauling defense meta with some broadstrokes, so let that happen first and see what comes.
Warden is fine now that they nerfed the shoulder bash vortex.
PK is cancer. She's designed to be the single most annoying and toxic character in the game and is every bad decision thrown into a single hero. She is fairly balanced though if you can tech her throws consistently.
Theyve toned down PK slighlt a couple times now. It sounds like shes in a good place on PC. Certaintly not weak, but no longer broken or OP. On console, the jury is still out if shes still to strong.
As the above said, it would make sense to gradually nerf PK/Warden as they are some of the most played heroes. They're aware Warden and PK are strong, but they dont believe they are grossly OP that they are game breaking. At the same time, you nerf them to the ground, and a very good amount of people will be upset, and for good reason.
Nerfing the top tiers is not the way to go right now..Maybe tone down one or two things to the top tier, but nothing major. What they should be doing is buffing all the weaker heroes. the more nerfs, typically the more reason to turtle or encourage the defensive meta. Buff some attacks or rework others, and you could open up new ways for these heroes to fight instead of defend all the time.
First, improve your skills. Second, Hero is not strong itselfs, human behind controler is your problem.Originally Posted by Varicose_Veins Go to original post
I'm not seeing anywhere near the numbers of PKs in games as I used to. Everyone seems to be a Lawbringer, a Shoguki, an Orochi or a Warden. Berserkers and Warlords are close behind. Nobushis and Valkyries are high on the list of most encountered classes too. Raiders and Conquerors less so. Kensei and PKs are the two classes I see the least lately. If there's a PK in my match, it's usually me.
Pretty much as we guessed might happen. I have seen more low level (below rep 1 to blue gear) peacekeepers than high level, my guess is we lost the light spammers who now complain she is trash tier because they can only do two at a time without being interrupted (and given some characters have a guaranteed second light that brings her into line with those given hers is fast but can potentially be blocked) and a mixture of it being offseason and people thinking they would try her now some of what made her so stigmatising has been nerfed to see how they find her has led to a few picking her up at least until the new characters drop.Originally Posted by Gray360UK Go to original post
Yeah, basically we lost the FOTM players, who have no doubt now shifted to the latest FOTM character. The Lawbringer population seems to have quadrupled for example. Like you say, we called this. I am still not sure how I feel about PK myself now, it takes a good player to be a good one, and maybe that is as it always should have been, and indeed how it should be for every character. However I think now the focus is off the PK (hate threads have certainly dropped to an all time low) the problems with several of the other classes are way more apparent.Originally Posted by CandleInTheDark Go to original post
The effort required to be good on a PK far outstrips the effort required to do well on many other characters now imho (and no I am not talking top 1% 'high level' gameplay because 99% of the playerbase is not in that bracket, obviously). Credit has rarely been given to a good PK player for being good. The class has always been blamed. Good because PK, never good because good. Well as a Rep 9 PK, I can tell you, that if you meet a good one now, they are good because good.
Totally agree with Gray360UK, CandleInTheDark and CoyoteXStarrk. PK population has dropped hard since the nerfs, mostly I am the only one in a match now. FOTM Chars: LB, WL, Berserker and still the Warden.
As a PK Player who never abused the Light and ZA spam I can only say that if you nerf her more without giving her something else - she will be absolute trash. There are only 2 Characters in the game now who have none of the following: bash, unblockable attack, hyperarmor -> PK and Orochi (if you exclude the "on Deflect" unblockables which are not that easy to pull off).
They recently buffed Orochi Deflect into a real good move - Light, Heavy, GB. PK still has only a Light. Berserker has a guaranteed GB into a guaranteed Heavy hit. PK does only get the Stabs and maybe a wall stagger into Dash-Heavy-Light Attack. Warden with Bleed immunity laugh about a PK GB. And everybody with high Debuff reduction, too.
Give PK a guaranteed Heavy hit on GB, an unblockable in her chains or Hyperarmor on her Heavy / Dash attacks, then we can talk about further nerfing her.
Coming from a PK Main on PC.
