The past month or so I have struggled against Lawbringers and am looking for any tips that I can use to try and turn the tide.
Currently I main a Warden, have find that whether I try and keep distance and chip at their health, or go in guns blazing most strategies I can come up with do not work that often.
Most LB seem to be very good at countering GB, and the block into shove is quite a pain!
Lastly I am not 100% sure on their kit but it feels like every action they perform against me causes me to loose my stamina and then from their everything goes to sh*&!
Cheers
His shove from neutral/block and long arm are the only moves that drain your stamina. It'll depend on the kind of LB you fight...but.
As a warden use your zone liberally. it has a good lunge range and it's fast enough that most people can't block it.
Go for a single top light if they don't leave their resting guard in up.
Those are your safe tactics.
If you see the LB going for a lot of shoves out of neutral just dodge that and shoulder bash them. If they are smart and dodge it they can GB you. if that happens just bait them by canceling and going either for a quick uper light or a gb.
If LB is just turtling and mainly only doing upper light try to leave your guard in upper frequently. But try feinting. If they react to it a lot you can use that to get in some damage in a different direction. Main point against a turtling LB is to feint a lot to make them feel safer and then get an attack out in a different direction. Be sure to use SB cancel's here as well to force them to react.
If you do happen to get shoved at any point forget about paying attention to the character model. Look for a red indicator instead. if you see it just immediately dodge and upper light/zone. If you don't see it immediately they are likely going for a GB and just tech that. it'll take practice but it's doable.
If you're dealing with a semi aggressive LB that makes uses of feints try to read what they choose to feint. Most people who implore feints only do it in one direction or with one specific combo. Important thing is to just stay calm. I've never seen a law go for a full combo they have. they usually feint the third or second hit depending on the combo. The most common combo and easies to see is light heavy heavy. And will likely be the one mixed up the most.
Terrible advice... blocked zone attack = free gbOriginally Posted by Knight_Raime Go to original post
Using it liberally doesn't mean spam it. Just means use it often. If they are mid attack throw it out. fast enough to hit first in most instances.Originally Posted by Vlox. Go to original post
Feint one direction than zone from the other. etc.
If you're on pc I could see the argument for not using it as often. But on console barely anyone has the reaction time to block it.
Besides if you use it successfully enough people will be conditioned into leaving their guard in that direction. which leaves you to do top lights more often.
His shove can be dodged on reaction, it's pretty slow compared to other bashes. So if you're low stam or he's spamming shove/guardbreak, wait idly and be ready to guardbreak counter, and if you see him go to shove instead, dodge or dodge attack. There is enough time and with some practice it won't be a problem. Keep your guard up for his top light, its his only fast attack. His pancake flip is easily dodged and can be punished with a guardbreak. His running stab always comes from the left and his only other option out of stance is a guardbreak like everyone else, so keep your guard left and be ready to guardbreak Finally, keep in mind that after a shove the supposedly guaranteed light attack can be dodged.
That's about all you need to know, everything else is pretty generic with Lawbringer
