    Poll: Remove ranges for characters.

    I know this may be ignored by 90% of the community or severely hated on. But I am just concerned about the massive advantage ranged classes have over non-ranged classes. I main LB and I noticed how when, let's say, Berserker tries to swing or GB me I am always too far away and I always have the upper hand even if he is more skilled. I honestly think that range ruins this games combat, I know, I know. It's realistic, but we all know Ubisoft is more about making the game fun than realistic and personally I think it would be a great addition to have to learn your class more because of not having that range as a lucky crutch. Just imagine combat if everyone had the same range, it would be amazing and require a-lot more skill on both of the players involved.

    Range is part of the balancing mechanic. If you remove range, characters like the Nobushi would need a buff to counter act it. Range is also a tactical element, one of the few in the game, dumbing down games never gets my vote.

    This may be the single most irritating and head shaking thread I have ever seen on the forums since I joined last year. That is not an exaggeration.


    If we start getting rid of KEY advantages like range or attack speed then we might as well just bury the game because at that point it will be dead. In the case of Nobushi her Range is the only thing that makes her dangerous anymore and in the case of the Beserker its the only thing that limits us.


    You can't just say "Oh well that guy has more health than me thats not fair" or "That guys combo is faster thats not fair" Its a competitive melee PvP game. Things like speed, range, health, etc etc are the ONLY things that separate heroes.


    Also NO it would not take MORE skill if you took away range. It would take a hell of alot LESS skill. Right now having to compensate and account for the range of your enemy is a key aspect of fights. If you took it away it become even MORE of a button mashing spamfest.


    Oh and another thing Range is not a "Lucky Crutch" its a key attribute that you take into account when choosing a hero. Just because you got outranged in a fight doesn't mean range is OP or "luck" it means that YOU as a player did not account for the extra reach of your opponent and you paid for it.



    I will say this again for the 1,000th time JUST BECAUSE IT KILLS YOU DOESN'T MEAN ITS OP




    No way that range should be made universal. The Devs can NEVER start normalizing key attributes like attack speed or range. It would be the single greatest mistake the Devs could possible do. The remaining playerbase would jump ship.

    It's not a lucky crutch it's called spacing and it's common in fighting games. What Teaches you more about your class then knowing what disadvantages or advantages you have over another? If everyone has the exact same range what more are you learning that you weren't learning as a result of different ranges? It's the only advantage classes like nobushi and kensei have over classes like PK or warlord. They give up their speed, defense, or damage for range. It also creates variety and learning spacial awareness.

    Yup, In fact let's get rid of differences in attack speed, HP, defense, and damage. Everyone should be 100% the same in all scenarios, and hero choice should only be cosmetic. -Sarcasm

    Yep, ubi taking away an I-win button is "dumbing down." Not even taking it away mind you but reducing how ridiculous it was.

    Revenge mode is still alive and well and in the hands of a skilled player it is still devastating.


    The fact that you regularly see people win 2v1s still is proof of that fact. Now stop beating the dead horse Rhodri and move on.

    You know damn well the Revenge was OP the way it was before. A large number of players LEFT because of how ridiculous Revenge was and the majority of the community was begging for it to be brought down and the Devs even said the ability wasn't being used the way they intended.


    It was being abused and exploited by people to get 1 or two hit kills and they were able to get it back in mere SECONDS after losing it.


    Nice try, but just stop. The evidence that shows how badly unbalanced Revenge was is overwhelming. Its never going back to the way it was. You know it. I know it. Everyone knows it. Just stop. Its getting sad at this point.
