changing loadouts while in combat ideas

try if for a week on pts

when players change sets it resets all skills and signature plus a 5 to 7-second 10% to 20% damage debuff/fall off to firearms when firearms are over 7000.

so players can't swap to a one shot build after they drop a tactician seeker mine. plus they can't swap from a deadeye right into a tact build and drop a seeker mine because of the skill reset.

this might be a little out there but I'll put it out there. players have an X amount of combat swaps while in PvP before receiving a 2-minute swap cooldown. the X amount of times doesn't count when not in combat

example: playing the last stand I can swap 6 times during a match after 6 times I will receive a 2-minute cooldown and during that cooldown, I can't switch gearsets.

For regular DZ you get 3 swaps while in combat after that you will receive 2-minute cooldown for maybe 30 minutes to an hour then it will reset and you will get your 3 swaps back with out penalty.

Side note: As I say up above, you can swap while not in combat and this won't count as a combat swap but skill reset, signature reset per swap and damage fall off still apply.

@krackin....I meant every time you swap all your skills get put on cooldown that's what I meant by reset.

@fox74 I don't honestly care but I can see why players might want it. if I was giving chase to rogues a quick swap will be a place where it can make sense.

What's the harm in a PTS test? I'm not saying live game here. I think it should be a little bit more flexible than what it currently is. if players don't like after the test dump it.

That's exactly why it's a bad idea and the vast majority do not want it.
Hot swapping from 9000 firearms to 9000 electronics to 9000 stamina in combat would be abused to hell and back.
A Tactician throws a nuclear seeker at a rogue and hurts them bad and then switches to 9000 firearms Banshee to chase them down.

@mckrackin324..... did you read my post every time you swap your skills WILL BE ON COOLDOWN so you can't just switch gear sets and have a seeker mine ready to release. same with having firearms over 7000 you will get a 20% damage drop off for 5 to 7 secs so you can't swap from your tact build after dropping seeker then putting on a deadeye set, it will do 20% less damage.

if what you mean by cool down/reset is that say you have

a fully charged recovery link. Seeker mine and SB. want to switch to First aid. Tactical Link. and Ballistic shield. using the combat hotswap. it switches to the 3. but it puts the Sig on full cooldown. like its that full 5 Min cooldown even tho it was fully charged.

if thats the way you want it? then unfortunately i cant get behind this change as that's pretty unfair. having to wait ANOTHER 5 mins for your Sig. just because you wanted to hotswap to a different build.

@Madinogi........I put that in there so players won't try to cheese there dps builds when their signature is full. like jumping from tact to deadeye then when their signature is ready they put on there all HE builds to use tactical link.

don't forget how I have it. it's only if you're in combat, if you're not in combat then the reset of your skills or signature won't happen.

The 5 second drop in power does not keep you from the chase.
If you stop to completely change your character, your target should be getting away from you or killing you while in the menu.

Why is switching gear in the middle of a fight needed?
