So back in March, along with a ton of other people, my UPLay account was Hacked by russians. THey didn't do much except play my account for a couple hours. It took over a month for Ubisoft to get my game running in English again. A month. Of course I was automatically treated like a thief, having to show multiple forms of proof that I was indeed the one who purchased GRW. After I was able to go in game and play, Im now back to the first area of the game, with none of my weapons, attachments, etc.. Of course i was pissed since i was over 75% done with the campaign. THey couldn't help at all with anything, and offered me a booster pack. A booster pack! Thank god, i now have a booster pack that will set everything right in the world. What a avoidable disaster. After research, its wasn't MY account that was hacked, mine was just one of many that had its user and passwords stolen from Ubisoft server. Now, how in the hell is that my fault? I guess i did learn a couple things from this, dont ever trust Ubisoft to resolve your problem, and never use their CLoud for savegames, because its worthless. I wish i could say this was the first time, but this happened to THe Division as well, so they obviously havent learned anything. My Ubisoft days are now over. Rant over.
Yeah that's crap. My Uplay account was also accessed a few months back by a Russian who played The Division on my account. It took me one phone call to Ubi and 15 minutes later my account was restored and available again. I immediately added two factor authentication to my account. Did you call them or make a ticket? Support via tickets is quite unhelpful compared to phone.
Any proof / source that the account information was stolen from Ubisoft servers? Most of the times it's other data breaches which contain information that is also used for other services (as most of us don't have unique passwords for every online service).
Wow, that sucks. What platform do you play on? Who initially said it was the Russians who hacked you, and how did you ultimately find out it was because of Ubisoft's servers taking your user ID and password? I too was a victim of the server issues with The Division, and it WAS NOT fun. Because of the way they provide patches and DLC's I had to delete and download that game an embarrassingly way too many times.Originally Posted by blackn82 Go to original post
You mentioned you wish you could something other than their cloud for savegames and that got me thinking about my issue along the same lines. I play on Xbox One and am always connected to the web. I decided last week to take my Xbox on a weekend trip and use it while in the hotel. There was no internet initially and none of my games would work because I couldn't pull down my savegames, and, I hadn't set my new Xbox One as "mine" in the settings. A really stupid thing to have to do if you ask me. Anyway, I finally got a wireless connection and could play, but what do people do that have no internet connection? Will games like Wildlands, Mass Effect Andromeda, etc., play without it? How is this setup as far as gamesaves go?
