The best mix-up is GB into top finisher cancel into GB into top finisher or if you can get another GB then follow through with the finisher after that mix-up the health should be minimal.

The mix-ups of Kensei start literally on his 3rd hit of the combo (2nd after dash attacks). The point is that Kensei on a high-level play has no real way to reach his end combo to start mindplays. Side dash attacks are telegraphed and slow as hell and you don't even have to parry it to punish him.Just regular block and get a free GB. On front dash attack you have to keep your guard up and be ready to CGB in case he tries to grab you. Heavies are among the slowest of the game as do his lights. So no real way to get to the mix-up party.

I ve said although elsewhere. I dont think Kensei is in need of an opener move.It is about time Ubisoft really fixed the "turtle meta". In a swordplay game you cant possibly punish the players so hard because they attacked. You literally go from 100 to 0 just because you dared to make a move. That is silly.

well i have no trouble beating others at high level plays with my play style, but i do agree he needs a better move-set. Also you can start a mix up simply with a GB in to his unblockable then you can cancel that into another GB then another unblockable. that deals huge damage.

After a certain skill level it doesn't matter how much damage he has since all his attacks get blocked. That's the whole point of this thread. I don't know if you play on console or on PC. But on the PC you have plenty of time to react and just block or counterguardbreak everything kensei throws at you. Blocking is easy, counterguardbreaks are easy as well. Hell, you can just wait for the inevitable revenge and explode into his face and there is nothing he can do about it. Except for his top light are all of his attack slow and reactable. Side lights are a bit faster then they were before patch 1.05 but they are still slow.

I'm actually thinking about buying the game for a console since the pc version obviously requires to be balanced differently but noone in ubisoft seems to give a ****.
