I have been reading a few of the threads with reactions to the season rewards and i am not going to take any sides in that but instead suggest what i originally thought winning a season would lead to.

I read that "the world will be forever impacted by what happened in previous seasons".

I thought this meant that the winning faction, rather than win personal trinkets, would actually determine things like
- release of new, faction themed pvp maps, perhaps reflecting the celebration of the winners and others with destruction bearing witness of what became of the losers of the season
- storyline episodes where playable character and dialogue is determined by winning faction
- banners/debris in existing maps
- game lore

Things like that, basically.

To see a world with visible traces of "former rulers", covered up by the next and the next or enhanced by subsequent wins, much like our own world, affecting playable characters and dialogue in new story missions, available for every faction, to see new maps with themes and banners from your winning faction, to me, seemed like worthy reasons to band together as a faction and work together to change the world...

I just thought i would point this out, because i must admit when i learned what the prize for the vikings winning the season was, my first reaction wasnt amazement or disappointment about the personal rewards. It was a sense of confusement that the community prize in the form of game impact i had imagined was replaced with personal trophies.

Edit: this wasnt meant as a negative post, really, it was meant as a suggestion post with background for where the suggestion came from. I love the game and have already got plenty of awesome hours out of it. I just never saw the faction war as a personal thing, but as a community thing.
