A suggestion for a new game mode, partially inspired by Rainbow Six Siege.
The objective of this game mode is for the attacking team to raid the defending team's base, and capture an objective (dominion style field capture) or kill all defending team's players.
Players: 4/4 (or higher if possible, up to 8v8)
Rounds: 5 rounds, best of 3.
Gamemode Settings:
- Lethal Damage
- 2 lives only (1 live at the start, and only 1 revive).
- No Gearscore (until its balanced at least).
- All feats unlocked at start (custom feats).
- No Duplicate Heroes.
- 6 Minute rounds.
- Capturing the objective takes 15 seconds, regardless of players on the point.
In Depth settings:
A round will take 6 minutes, divided in the following settings:
- 30 seconds to choose your hero and settings.
- 30 seconds of prep time.
5 minutes of playtime, to kill the other team or capture/ defend the point.
Round explained:
- Picking your hero:
At the start of every round the players can pick their hero of choice (if not taken by someone else).
Each hero/ hero type has their own settings/ features which can be used during the game.- Prep Time:
During the prep time the defending team has 30 seconds to secure their position, and prepare for the enemies offense.
The Attacking team will view the area from a birdseye view (deathcam), on which some heroes can intervene with the area's below.
- Defending Team:
The defending has the following optional feats, depending on the hero types:
- Breakable walls/ Obstacles/ Doors/ Barricades. (Think about the breakable pots or Japanese Sliding doors).
- Flame/ Poison/ Bear traps/ a small assortment of longer ranged feats.
- Team Buffs/ Personal Buffs.
- Enemy Position indicators (Marked For Death).
- Self revive (only warlord).
- Attacking Team:
The raiding team gets the following optional feats, depending on the hero types:
- Placeable ladders, Personal grapple ropes (assassin types).
- Throwable Explosives, Bows, Smoke bombs.
- Team Buffs/ Personal Buffs.
- Enemy Position indicators (Marked For Death).
- Arrow Storm (certain Samurai), can be used in prep-time to harm enemies walking outdoors in. 3-5 times the size of the normal Arrow Storm.
- Combat Starts:
Attacking players will be spawned so they can find and raid the fortress/ castle/ town/ mansion/ Longhall.
The Starting position of the Defending team will be random, but they will always spawn in the same room as their defendable objective is.
The Offensive team will start depending on the map they play on. A small way away from the main defensive position, but well in reach to prevent long drawn starting phases.
The maps that will be played on will be a veriaty of multi-layered houses/ forts.
Some noticeable maps/ features usable for maps are:
- Multiple Knight's Castles in the Story mode.
- The Viking Longhall you raid as the Peacekeeper in the Story mode.
- The Vikings Long Hall in their first story mission (interior).
- The Royal palace of the Samurai.
- Basically a lot of the Story based maps. For the Viking Story you even have an actual Raid.
