That's what they said to me in elimination, so I went to brawl, now we're being told to go to duel? Duel is boring, fighting the same person/play-style for upwards to 5 rounds, that's why I personally enjoy Brawl, you can switch between two different opponents each round.

Brawl is the only team mode with no feats and no gear score, I did not queue for a 2v2 thinking I wanted a 1v1, if I wanted a 1v1, I would have queued for a 1v1 in duel, again, that is the only game mode designed specifically for 1v1. If I am taking the time to queue for a 2v2 game, I am playing it as 2v2. There is a very simple way to get 1v1 every time without fail, that is duel, you go anywhere else at your own risk. Or you get a group of friends and have a custom match, the onus is on you to make that effort if you want 1v1 in a 2v2 game mode.

You're not seeing the problem, but there's some kind of mental stumbling block that you 'honour at all costs' people can't seem to get past.

The guy wants to play 2v2 Brawl mode as a 2x1V1... Just as you advocate for a 2V2 team fight. It's extraordinarily pedantic of you to attempt to apply any type of psycho-analysis of the situation. Two people trying to play the game two different ways. Pretty simple.

Here is the thing though, dominion, skirmish and elimination, they have 4v4 above their name, duel has 1v1, brawl has 2v2. The thing is if I try to fight a brawl as a 2v2, which there is nothing in the rules or the map stopping me, and my partner doesn't like it, a good many of them do their best to hinder their own teammate then they come here and whine that someone wouldn't let them have their 1v1 duel in a 2v2 game mode. There was a video of a shugoki pre nerf knocking over his own teammate over and over, so if he is one of these 'honourable' people, where is the honour in that? Until there is a partition blocking off the two separate pairs, both the game description and the map back up that it is supposed to be 2v2. Why is it that we are expected to not play the only team mode without feats and gear stats in the way the name and description implies it should be played (since when is the last time you heard of a brawl and thought oh my they took it in turns to punch each other in the face?) when there is a game mode that caters for what they want?

I'ma let you finish (end pun) but the thing is there is also nothing to stop the other player from playing the way THEY want to. This is beginning to seem like another 'do it my way and my way only' speeches.

Indeed, the problem here is too much whining. I agree, they shouldn't whine. But people also shouldn't whine about how they want to play. I propose a truce! Nobody posts about how 2v2 is played.

I don't think it's a question of honour; I think that people just enjoy being paired with somebody else and the possibility that they might have the opportunity to carry their partner. Thus making them feel like virtual heroes. Or maybe it is an honour thing... I don't really know.

Look bro, I don't care if people want to treat it as a clusterf**k 2v2, or if people want to play in an 'honourable' 2x1v1. But what gets me is that everybody (both sides) seems to be trying to tell everybody else how to play. Just wish people would drop it and play however they want to. Like somebody else said. Adapt in-game.

No, you have it all wrong, I am all for people playing the mode however they like. He however, has one singular view of what the mode is for, to such a polar degree, that he believes people playing it as a 2 vs 2, which they are perfectly entitled to do, are doing it wrong.

Not only does he think it is wrong, but it is so wrong to him, that it justifies betraying your team mate and, worst of all, rage quitting.

That doesn't even come close to what I am saying and you think you are putting me right on a point I am not even making.

The reasonable honour crowd have a preference, which is fine, but they will adapt to whatever happens in the match, and go with the flow. This guy does not even concede that this is indeed just his personal preference. Two people trying to play the game two different ways, exactly. Tell him that, you are talking to the wrong person.

Yeah, I get that exactly, and mostly it is them that come in here and do that,look at the title of this thread for example, and then earlier on when a guy said if I want to play brawl that way, go to skirmish. I want a 2v2 game that has no gear score and no feats, there is a game that does that, it is called brawl. The person in this thread, and he is not the first by the by, is telling me no I cannot have that, go to a place with twice as many players and the things that I went to brawl to avoid in the first place because they don't want to go to duel for a 1v1. I have been pretty quiet on this before but this is happening more and more often.

I just go with the flow. Sometimes I'll 1v1 then help my partner because of certain maps and spawn location.
What I do find silly is the honorable revenge players, you know the ones who pop it to parry an attack and then run away.

Yeah, I think you definitely have misunderstood what's going on here.

The OP is basically saying if my teammate won't play how I want them to play then I won't help them (effectively ruining the game for others just because he is a pouty person who won't play any other way than his own.) Then he goes on to say that if the enemy team ganks, he ragequits (which again effectively ruins the game for others because 1: some people do not like to fight against bots and 2: nobody wants a bot as a teammate because any half decent player can demolish the bot.)
So it is basically his way or the highway

We are saying if he wants to play one way that is fine, but he should not ruin it for others or belittle people who play the game differently (and fairly) but just not the way he wants it to be played..

I myself usually like to play brawls as 2 different 1v1s BUT if my teammate ganks or my enemy ganks me I am not going to get mad, pout, cry, and quit like a baby, I am going to adjust and do the same thing/ get my mind ready for the gank.. That's it, easy peasy...

Again, I want a team fight with no gear score, the only place I can get that is brawl. You want a 1v1, you can also get this in duel which was made for that purpose,I'll go on playing a 2v2 the way it was designed to be played, 2v2 where your aim is for you and your partner to walk out alive leaving the other two dead. You owe your partner more than you owe the people you are trying to kill.

You want to talk about honour, it is not honourable to allow your teammate to get his head cut off, it is not honourable to allow your teammate to die when you could have prevented it. Take your imaginary honour code to duel and have your 1v1 there.

Singed, i'm sick of people Wow-ing and Good fight-ing 3 times in a row, because i just saved their lives.

Stick your honor code where nobody cares and play the modes as intended - thanks!
