I am a diehard Viking, but I didn't choose the vikings so I would turn into some rapper wannabe warlord at max level. All the gold and all the pageantry just doesn't fit with the Viking aesthetic.



Can we get some more rugged alternatives?


I want my blades to be cracked and soaked with the blood of my enemies.

Dude, don't use that aesthetic? Make it look like one of the other weapon types. Unless what you are asking for here is for them to add more gore based aesthetics?

I also agree with OP. Too much of a jewelry feel to it. The Gudbrand sword look is really crap.

Vikings got their swords from the Franks. It's not unreasonable to assume For Honor's Vikings get at least some of their weapons from the Knights (or at least knight territory). Some gaudy overlap seems plausible to me.

Agree, since the shiny weapons was, according to nordic mythology; A way to show a viking's status in the community. Just straight up showboating, and didn't have the durability as the battle weapons had.

And would also like to see new ornaments implemented aswell, such as; bear, wolf and boar ornaments/pelts. Not just the head (like the new wolfhead), but both body and head. It showed which region you were from, what a viking was wearing.

This for sure. If your gear looked like crap and was beaten and cracked you were not a very good Viking. Appearance and rep was everything to a Viking.

Hygiene and probably vanity was a higher priority to them than the ugly smelly Tinmen they were raiding. There's evidence of this found in Viking graves (combs,etc). They may have been Dirteh, but they weren't dirty!

I'm not saying they didn't.


I am saying the average Viking didn't strut around like he just robbed King Tuts tomb. I want my Viking to look like he just crawled out of a gutter and is using weapons that are 100yrs old.


(And yes I know the way Vikings are presented in this game is not even remotely how real Vikings looked I am saying I want my guys to look liek stereotypical Vikings. Like they do in the low level gear )
