Not sure that's a fitting analogy. Steel is currency, ornaments are something flashy to show off. Purely cosmetic. I'd also argue that most people play the game, indeed all games, for the sake of gameplay, challenges or competition. Stuff like ornaments and collectibles are secondary goals for most.Originally Posted by Potatoserver825 Go to original post
When I log in to For Honor, It's not to ogle my ornaments in the customization screen, It's to play against other people, but not to ogle their ornaments.
Choosing correctly has nothing to do with choosing the team that wins, It's meant to be choosing the faction you personally like the most. And again, I don't think the majority of players bought the game to collect all the ornaments.worrying about whether you chose correctly or if you're going to miss out on an unlockable isn't something people bought the game for.
True, except people can choose to use a standard emblem outline, then theoretically pair it with a Season win ornament, and now you can't tell if they won, or bought it, negating the purpose of the Faction War.Everybody is already losing interest in faction war. There's some people who literally never manually deployed this season just auto deploy everytime. There's numerous amounts of people saying they lost interest in faction war due to the poor rewards some going as far as saying they're quitting the game, including Vikings. You can tell who bought them by the outline they have on their emblem. Anyone besides ppl with the gold outline would obviously have bought it, as for anyone not using the outline who cares whether they bought it or earned it, I'm not going to spend any time trying to figure whether someone won the previous season or not.
People might not care about who won it or bought it, but if buying them is an option to begin with, there's no reason for the faction war to exist.
And I believe the season winner should be given ornaments. Or exclusive symbols, emblem outlines, something exclusive at least, and visually representative in game. The faction war is an integral part of For Honor, for better or worse, and for it to mean something, it needs an incentive at the end of it. Steel's not a good incentive, imagine how much you can accumulate during the course of a season. Your other suggestions conflict with the microtransaction system as well as season pass holders, who will want something extra for their money.Lastly I don't think the season winner should have even been given ornaments. I think they should've got a massive amount of steel, champ status, scavenger crates, the emblem outline, and maybe 3-7 days early access to the new content. The last one is very unlikely though since they want to make money off the season pass and plus the ppl with season passes get it a week early so it wouldn't benefit everyone.
The Steel income was fixed like 2 patches ago, you're now making like 40-50% more Steel in your orders than before, and I think it works nicely at the level it's at now.I think a massive amount of steel would be the best thing. That way ppl can buy whatever they want instead of being forced into getting ornaments plus we've been asking for steel as a reward since like round 2. The income rate of steel has also been complained about for awhile and will only continue to get worse as new things are added. Steel rewards would help counter this.
I may not have played too much because I can't because I'm saving up for a new computer but I played SO much at the start and I can't even get the stuff for my OWN faction. I paid money for this game and I don't even get rewarded for religously playing it at the start? I can't believe I defended you at the stake for bad game mechanics during open beta, a few DAYS mind you from release. I still want to believe. Just reward everyone for not abandoning your game and give each faction their own ornaments. Doesnt have to be all of them just their own faction.Originally Posted by RumHam- Go to original post
Um, no. This game has been losing peoples' interest because the P2P system is buggy as hell and people don't like only finishing one game every hour or so. Don't try and pretend anyone gives a crap about the faction war, and certainly not enough to quit the game over it or the rewards.Originally Posted by Eleanor-Ripley Go to original post
What? No. Let's say a match is worth 100 points (it's not, but it makes the math easier and it doesn't really matter). The over populated sams get no bonus, so 100 per person per match. The knights, who now conveniently have exactly half the population of the sams, get 200 a match to make it even.Originally Posted by Potatoserver825 Go to original post
If one person on the knights goes inactive they lose 200 a match. If one person in the sams goes inactive they lose 100 a match. So inactives hurt the lower populations more. Of course the flip side of that is, with my example population, the sams have twice the likely hood of someone going inactive, so it evens out.
As far as population, skill, and activity goes for the faction war literally everything averages out under the current system as long as we have a decent player base (small samples can cause issues). That's why it really is just RNG and always comes down to the last round or two. Everyone gets the same amount of assets, every team has the same percentage of good, bad, and inactive players. Etc.
This is the best idea imo. 30k steel is nothing to sneer at, and it stops people feeling ripped off by a terrible minigame they didn't want to waste time on.Originally Posted by Jaakobah Go to original post
If anything let 2nd place pick two at the end, and third place gets to pick one.
I don't think its right 2nd and third place get absolutely nothing at the end of the season. Yes, crates and and outlines for banners I'm not counting because they are useless. I'd rather pick 1 exclusive ornament for my main than have all the other stuff.

Well said,,for crates are almost worthless when you've high rep mains and high rep warriors in your faction.
The frame is of no use at all,,in fact I prefer my Buddha one for the Samurai.
Now to have the minimal choice of headgear ornament for main from your faction would surely be more than greatfully appreciated. ..
We all fought hard and long since day one of the Great War....
Please consider and give us a true reward in recognition of all our efforts..
Thank you.💮

I mostly agree with the second part though.Originally Posted by SlashingElbow Go to original post
Slashing: I've seen you in quite a bit of threads now and you say the exact sam thing in every post. This isn't real life dude... if games were as depressing and harsh as reality, do you think anyone would actually play them to escape reality for a moment and enjoy themselves? Come on, such a immature comment. I bet you haven't even seen war. And actually wars usually end in a treaty where both sides compromise and sacrifice things so everyone can be happy and live in peace. If no treaty is signed then the war and killing will rage on until one side has been massacred or is close to being eliminated and other countries will step in to stop the bullying country/side since that's the humantarian thing to do. Stop trying to relate video game war to real life war, you're argument is invalid.
