I ask this as someone who has no real ties to what the series had been, though I have played a few of them and enjoyed them well enough, and as someone who as truly enjoyed his time in this game, the bulk of it solo, so this isn't meant to add to be another thread dumping on the game but as a serious question about the design.
Anyhow, the challenge:
Go to said area and kill 30 Unidad soldiers with a ground vehicle Gatling gun.
Okay, seems easy enough. Someone thought about it long enough to limit it to ground vehicles, which is a pain to use but it can be used while piloting the helicopter, so they don't want to make it too crazy. It being a solo challenge after all, and their being no option for the AI to drive, it would seem to make sense that I just need to drive the armored SUV and have my AI partner(s) use the gun.
Nope... Not at all. You got to be the gunner!
How did anyone find these to be a well designed challenge for solo play???
Frankly, looking at the challenges for the week the sports car (scaled back in numbers, maybe?) should have been a solo challenge and this should have been the team challenge cause you really do need the option to be mobile. It doesn't take too long for Unidad helicopters armed with missiles to show up.
Actually the narrative of this challenge is the ghost way - get the two factions to fight each other.
No question it was not the best quest for single player, but you could drive to a base hit a couple of guards and drive away before the choppers came in. You even keep your stealth rating as long as you kill only before the alarm is raised. Similar to WW2 SAS desert raids.
true,.. they did it before in farcry... worked pretty good. i also cant understand why there is no f1-fx for the vehicle seats. when you could switch easyly between driver and gunner it would improve a lot. its a basic in every other game with vehicles. but since new games on pc are just poor console ports, devs dont even bother making use of the whole keyboard,... they rather just port the limited buttons from the controller sceme to pc.Originally Posted by RHAIN07 Go to original post
consoles are why pc players cant have nice things anymore.
Same here, would love stealth/ghost type challenges. I wont even be doing this weeks, because these challenges go against the way I play, not going to ruin my stats to do some lame *** military drive bys.Originally Posted by KingSpawn1979 Go to original post
Sorry, you cannot blame consoles for this lack of this feature, and I say this as a fellow PC player...Originally Posted by jinquis Go to original post
Anyhow, it could have easily been added by holding the seat swap button instead of just pressing it. Boom, done.
I find this challenge to be very easy if you want to plan a trick out. I completed this in single player You might get killed in the process, of course.
All you have to do is prepare a mounted minigun car,
> park it somewhere tight with walls and sharp corners,
> let Unidad search for you ON FOOT and kill them as they walk unawared in front of you one by one.
It's really up to be player to think and perform like a 'Ghost' or not. If you can't perform in silence, then start making noise to deceive enemies.

Besides, some PC players use Joystick to play games. Do you want to blame them as well as the reason why controls are limited thanks to their limited-buttoned joysticks?
Get a grip.
