Has anyone else downloaded Wildlands from Steam and then downloaded ubisoft and installed the game only to find out that clicking the big "PLAY" button doesn't actually do anything?
I've clicked on the play button and the graphic pops up on my screen for a few seconds then goes away and nothing loads up...
did I just waste $60 or is there some way I can fix this?

I'm in the same boat. bought it from steam a month ago. did not work. returned it. bought it again from Ubisoft since update 3 came out. alas still nothing. stuck at the start a campaign screen. would love to play. so far all i have seen is the starting movie LoL

or wherever yours is, and re-install both 2012 and 2015 vc_redist (either x86 or x64 version that matches your system, then
E:\STEAM\steamapps\common\Wildlands\EasyAntiCheat and rerun the setup for wildlands (drop down list).

any workaround? I just installed the game but I wasn't able to customize my character. Campaign doesn't load at all and gets stuck on ~70%

Hello, please open tickets at https://support.ubi.com regarding this issue (click Contact Customer Support to do so). Include your msinfo and dxdiag files in the ticket in order to provide our technical support agents with the most thorough information.
DiscoTurtles, it's possible given what you described that it may be an issue with firewall/anti-virus software. Please run Uplay as an administrator and temporarily turn off AV software. Let us know if this helps! If it doesn't, a ticket with information about your PC will be the best way for us to look into the issue.
