I didn't get the point of a free shove every damn block if block cost nothing and have no risk. It is just anti-game.Originally Posted by Felis_Menari Go to original post
Before 1.5/1.6, there was absolutely nothing wrong with block>Shove. It served as a defensive interrupt with stamina damage and light push-back, with potential follow-ups. But, none of them were tricky or fast enough to be a serious threat. Only with the unblockable light after a Shove off of block does anyone have proper cause to complain. With the modified hitbox of the Shove>light though, it really is easy to dodge. I almost want the pre-1.6 hit box back without the unblockable status, lol.Originally Posted by Vingrask Go to original post
I think it was entirely unnecessary to give him further enforcement to play passively. I mained him all the way to Rep 7 and dabbled in other characters waiting on a buff of some sort. What I got was nice at first but with the most recent patch I just can really bring myself to play him for the same reasons I stayed away from the top 4 in that they have safe semi reliable forms of damage and that is a bore in itself to me. After patch I fought against new low level LBs who utterly destroyed me by never taking a single risk and using how his kit now works against me to slowly beat me into submission. LB fights used to be drag out brawls of attrition and balls showing off fine tuned parry skills and trades. I really hate to have to find a completely new character to main but I just cant bring myself to turtly up and use him as Warlord 2.0 with a slower guard switch.
I assume this is a facetious comment? Because anyone with common knowledge of For Honor knows only Shove originally had hyper armor (which was never a big deal before 1.5/1.6 introduced the unblockable block>Shove>light). With 1.5, the bastardized version of Make Way that we currently have has hyper armor too. And anyone who knows about the parry requirement to activate it also knows that it is no big deal. So...no issues with UI/HA here.Originally Posted by kweassa1917 Go to original post
So tell me then, the major issues you had with Shove before patch 1.5, when the LB was generally considered to be one of the weakest characters. How was it a problem, when Shove was more reactable than a Warlord's Headbutt or Conqueror's Shield Bash, both of which had guaranteed follow-ups. Shove on the other hand, did not.Originally Posted by kweassa1917 Go to original post
Really no offense, but every thread about the "new LB" is see your posts, about how immortal he is nowOriginally Posted by Lord-Micidial Go to original post
Meanwhile I punish LB in most cases when they shove me ... maybe you should also learn these techniques instead of b*tching in the forum till Ubi removes the block-shove and makes the LB worse then he was before the 1.05 patch![]()
@kweassa1917: Long Arm, uninterruptible? What? I've been knocked out of the LA animation; it doesn't have hyper armor. You seem to enjoy the usage of hyperbole and false information in this anti-LB rant of yours, which I find difficult to understand. And my point from my previous post still stands,
but allow me to elaborate on it.
Pre 1.5/1.6 Shove had hyper armor, yes, which allowed it to take priority over most attacks. But, that Shove led into nothing guaranteed or difficult to defend against. This means that an LB could easily Shove into an opponent's attack, eat it, and have nothing to show for it (so there is no trading hits sometimes, just ineffectually bashing and loss of health). So, there was no legitimate reason (as far as I can tell) as a LB opponent to want it's removal, as it was no major or overpowered threat. If you got Shoved off a ledge, it simply means you needed more situational awareness.
Shove wasn't useless, though. As a slow stance switcher, being able to Shove off of blocked attacks allowed the LB to more effectively defend against faster characters (PK, Valkyrie, as prime examples), since it served as an interrupt. And off of dodge (if the enemy didn't anticipate it), it was a useful pressure tool due to the ability to move opponents and deal stamina damage.
@kweassa1917: Garbage argument...says the person comparing apples and oranges and acting like it makes sense. Kensei and Raider have regular attack UBs; they are normal strikes endowed with unblockable status. Shove is a non-damaging bash attack like Shield Bash, Shoulder Bash, Headbutt, and Kick. If you want to make a proper comparison, use those instead. By using Raider's and Kensei's UBs as a point of contention, you make the only viable comparison the LB's standard unblockable attack. (light>heavy>*heavy*, and parry>*top heavy*).
