Great post. I'll throw my two cents here. I noticed that HS is really susceptible to lag. I was training with Conq bot and really like to respond with HD to when he was charging his flail attack. It missed 100% time and I was able to counter with light attack. But with players I often have problem with that because their attacks seems faster. And I think lags are responsible for that - game makes animations faster in order to compensate for lags. So making activation faster and giving it more priority over guard switching will probably help here as well.
I second this. Nobushi is my main, so people would of course think: bleh, only want's ones main buffed. And though this may be true, i honestly believe that Nobushi could "play" better without becoming too strong by simply adjusting minor timing issues. Hidden Stance, Guard Change (i think this affects more then one might believe - though your def skills could still be "good", specially flicker bug and the like make for clumsy responses. I mean where the Kensei still blocks, Nobushi doesn't manage though the player was just as fast, only due to the stupid slower switch speed.
I agree. It's almost useless unless you intend to dodge slow heavy attacks. No point using HS against assassins for example.
Perhaps we can have some extra armor similar to super armor while using HS so the risk is not entirely gone waste and can take some extra damage. Given the amount of stamina required, it's not something we would spam constantly as unblockables by conqueror, valkyrie and law bringer.
"Hence, as an offensive tool HS is limited as well. In most cases you can evade an attack with HS and immediately try for a thrust, and classes with quicker recovery would simply land its own attack first."
Also more classes are getting superior armor on their 2nd attack. Meaning we use HS to dodge the first attack...go in with the quick lights...only to be hit with their uninterruptible heavy.
Yes it needs reworked
Hidden Stance is almost fine. It shouldn't be a common go to tool nor should it be easy to execute because of its totally unique properties. Nobushi has the ability to disregard ANY attack in the game. Shoulder Bash, Charge of the Oni, Leg Sweep etc...
The only change I'd recommend is to give you uninterruptible stance for the first attack coming out of it IF you successfully evade an attack. Tired of evading PK light spam only to be interrupted on the follow up. Nobushi has nothing against PK otherwise unless you guess correctly and block their first attack.
Why do people still keep believing the slower guard change myth? It's been proven a myth. I have 4 rep 5+ characters at 108 gs and even I've tested it. It simply does not exist. Hell I picked up the nobushi today out of boredom and she's fun as hell. The only problem is that the kick used from hidden stance has a very long and predictable startup. The only time the kick is a surprise is using it in combos. Be lucky your guard isn't as buggy as the beserker (my main) where you constantly get hit through it.
