Sure, at first it looks like they are harder to do and should be more rewarded. But my main issue with this is the difference between a light hit and a light parry dmg. If my fastest, long range, 12dmg poke (nobushi) can lead to 1/3 of my health lose than that poke is just unusable. And that is exactly what leads to the "why the hell should I ever attack?" feeling. I think pokes should be at least somewhat safe.

In my opinion parries should give a special retaliate attack with around 15-25 dmg depending on class. And heavy attacks should do around 10-15 chip damage. This way parrying a heavy attack is still very worthwhile, but the mixup possibilities would greatly increase without favoring one player to much.
Nobushi does have tools to deal with those risks though. You can light attack hidden stance cancel into double stab. If they are reading that, you can light attack into hidden stance cancel into heavy attack ,feint gb into... many possibilities from there. I know that hidden stance can be kind of wonky and slow. But, I think making it any better would lead to the issues we're having with other characters right now. I am starting to come around on the whole maybe parries should be a little less powerful opinion though.

    2) Eh. I don't have a problem with heavy parries as they currently are
    3) This is superfluous as point 2 implies that GBs should not be confirmed on parry
    4) Technically, they are the same speed. There have been tests done on this on YouTube. The problem is that when you switch guards quickly, some characters will start to miss their guards. This should be fixed.
    5) Obvious suggestion is obvious. Remove them from the game.
    6) There needs to be more elaboration on this. How should they be made harder etc.
    7) Yes.
    8) I've always toyed with the idea of excessive blocking taking up stamina so people who turtle up are punished by being unable to punish mistakes. If someone does nothing but block in this system, they should eventually get exhausted and fall over/stumble. If this isn't realistic, then chip damage should be made more threatening.
    9) I'd wait and see if chip damage makes this obsolete before removing last bar regeneration.
    10) Again, HOW?! You can't just say, "make x more punishable" and then expect an answer.
    11) Environmentals aren't that bad, unless there is a Warlord. Nerf his throw range and environmentals will be fine. They should be factored into your positioning.
I can pose ideas without definite answers. The point of this thread is discussion. I will think about your feedback though and try to come up with something more specific.
Here's one get rid of wardens GB cancel out of shoulder bash. He will have to cancel it then hit gb.

That was the one and only change needed to wardens, instead they did nothing usefull.

1&2) No. Because certain heros have benefit more or benefit less from their lights or heavies. If we're going to look into what you get for free after parries based upon recovery frames the team needs to specifcally base those around each individual attack. Not across the board like this.

    3) yes for most. But I feel some really hard to parry attacks should confirm gb. Like parrying a pk's zone.

    4) yes.

    5) yes. I'm all for tech as long as it's a feature that gets a proper implementation.

    6) Can't really say since true things block>shove on law is a 50/50 when it's not.

    7) Yes. But only if turtleing as a whole doesn't get nerfed in a significant way. Devs seem to be looking to do so. In reality if chip damage makes it in we wouldn't need this.

    8) Like the recovery frames off of being parried I think chip damage should be done based on every individual attack and not blanket like this. Though perhaps chip damage could increase if you are comboing while the guy continues to block.

    9) If chip damage makes it in and parries are nerfed we won't need to remove this.

    10) yes.

    11) That's more of map design than anything mostly. But the devs could look to making it so only certain things can ledge people. Like shoves or attacks with momentum. But I don't think things like successfully teching a GB should ledge anyone.
