You are not alone. Check out this thread: http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php...ndom-Crashing?
I submitted a support ticket yesterday. I can only get 10-15 mins in-game before it crashes. So cannot even complete any side missions nor the main storyline mission. It's a waste of time. I've tried the various tips offered in these forums, but no joy.
However, I did reinstall the game last night and although the game still freeze/crashes within 10-15 mins, I now get returned to the desktop where Uplay has a Crash window pop up to submit a report - which I've done at least 3 times this morning. At least that's better than the total freeze and PC rebooting itself!
From looking at other posts about same issue, it seems if you have an old computer and low spec - the game runs fine. But if you have a high end spec with the GTX 10 series - you can't play this particular game. Shame because Nvidia gives this game with the GTX1080 card, which is how I got it (so no refund for me). Alas, 3 people bought the game in order to play co-op with me. They can play - but I can't, so I'm pretty annoyed right now.
The thing I do not understand why after the last patch I have these problems, Before the patch I had only a small stuttering
I think it's a UBI problem, because even on the division they still can not fix it (bug, lag, stuttering and more).
This is the last game buy from ubisoft.
I have the exact same problem on a i7 7700K and 980 Ti. Worked fine before patch 3 and now it's going back to the desktop at random intervall. No error no nothing![]()
Same here. 15 minutes in, locks up, hard drive thrashing (silently, SSD), CTD. Never had any issues with this game before patch 3.

Hey guys, if you are having troubles with crashing and stuttering with your game, you can try these steps and see if they help. If those don't help, and you haven't already, you can create a support ticket here, and include an MSinfo and DXdiag file so we can troubleshoot with you faster.
I submitted a ticket yesterday so still waiting for a response.
I contacted Nvidia today and they advised downloading the latest driver from their website and do a custom/clean install. They also said to go to the Nvidia control panel and check the 3D settings:
a) Power management mode - Prefer maximum performance
b) Vertical sync - Off
c) Threaded optimization - Off
d) Triple buffering - Off.
I did this and was able to stay in the game solo play for 40 mins before I voluntarily exited (instead of the usual 10 mins with crash). Tonight managed to play for nearly 2 hours in co-op before the dreaded screen freeze/crash and PC reboot!
I hope Ubisoft can sort it out soon.
Just submitted a ticket as well. Awful framerate and stuttering issues. I tried ubisofttofu's hotfixes, including changing my PC's display settings to just my main monitor and unplugging my smaller second monitor, but now the game only runs in a small 1280x720 window in the middle of my 1980x1020 screen and the options menu will not allow me to change the resolution settings.
Going to uninstall, delete and reinstall but I had similar framerate problems with Far Cry 4 and Far Cry Primal and they are still running terrible long after Ubisoft stopped patching. I haven't had any issues with any Assassins Creed or Watch_Dog titles, so I'm doubtful that I'll purchase any more games from the Far Cry or Ghost Recon franchises until these games are made playable.
