Region lock is killing the game for some of us | Forums

The region lock system is becoming a huge issue. In some places it getting harder and harder to find a match (in my case, xbox one, south america). I had situations where me and a couple of friends stayed looking for a match for almost half hour. Is there anything planed to solve that? Right now, the few of us that have friends in other areas (such as US or Europe) are just joining them to get matches. There is no lag issue btw, even if you are in another country as long your internet conection is good.

So I ask, is Ubisoft doing anything to solve this? If they won't, they better put a warning in the live store saying that "X, Y or Z regions cannot play multiplayer".

My sugestion is, do like dark souls. Let people opt between "local matchmaking" or "global matchmaking". People that do not want players from other regions just need to tag local and everyone will get what they want.

You know, it would be nice to hear if Ubisoft realizes this is actually a problem to a part of their player population, way more than balancing X or Y class. If you can't play, changing classes is pointless.

I hear you bro, sometimes when I want to play past midnight the game cant find a game at all and sometimes when I am playing at a "normal" hour it takes to long to start a game. In my "region locked" game I can just play with people from brazil and argentina.

I hope there is a way to change that.

Yes, its a killer. They have to give us more options to deal with this problem or make it clear that they do not care for players outside of Europe and North America. Does anyone think its reasonable to spend almost half hour to find a match?To make things worse when you do get a match either yourself dces or you friends or just everyone! In the past weeks most of my friends that play the game quit it (we made a huge friend list of people that play the game, barely anyone is playing now).

I'd rather wait 15 minutes for a game than playing against a red connection PK with teleport light attacks with no indicator warning and with teleport movements

I just want to play with more people that the little fraction that currently is playing in south america. Is not like all south america have bad connections in the Beta I played with people from all over the globe and those games were perfect, no lag, no conection issues, every went great but now I hava been playing against the same people over and over and over again. Its like a little family without the ability to explore more people.

Indeed, this is another huge letdown, WHEN we get a match we always end up fighting the same people over and over again. I see ubisoft representatives showing up to talk about minor things at this forum but yet they refuse to discuss this problem that affect a lot of us.

I have to say I never experienced this kind of problem when playing with people from the North America or Europe regions. IF that happened I would still rather fight a teleporting enemy than no enemy at all for half hour.

Oceania has same problem too. Impossible to get Deathmatches most of the time. Only Dominion gets fast games and only at local peak time.

Same here, skirmishes and elimination matches are impossible to find. Yet no one at Ubisoft seems to care about it.
