    Graphic card

    Hi
I replaced my video card today after uninstalling the old ones and installing the latest driver, now my farcry 4 gives me this error "Can not find a suitable display setting" after the splash screen. I have tried replacing he XML file but didnt help.

    question 1

what was your old GPU ?

    question 2

did you use DDU in safe mode to uninstall your old vid cards drivers before you put in the new card ,,then install the updated drivers for the new video card once windows rebooted ?

Question 3 did you go in DOCUMENTS \ MY games \ far cry 4 | a sub folder with a series of letters and numbers and delete your gamerprofile .xml file ?

the game will create a new one on its own the next time you launch it with your new video card

open your far cry 4 folder

    C < or what drive ya use for steam \ program files X 86 \ Steam \ steam apps \ common \ far cry 4 \

look for the support folder \ support \ software

reinstall the DX , vc redist and MS dot net framework runtimes

also make sure you uninstalled the old drivers from your OLD amd GPU properly (yes in safe mode with DDU for best results ) and get the latest AMD driver for your shiny new GPU from AMD

and always launch steam as well as Uplay as run as ADMINISTRATOR

right clik the desktop icon's you have

    select properties

    select the advanced tab

and check the box that says runs as administrator

do a file verify for the games that do not launch

To verify your files if you bought the game thru Steam ..\EXIT Steam ..right click your steam icon ..select run as Administrator

    to launch Steam

then go to your Steam games library

right clik on far cry 4

    select properties

    select local files

select verify Integrity of game cache

it takes a few min to do but its faster the redownloading your entire game , if its only a few files that were corrupt or installed incorrectly .... this in many cases will fix your problems

If you have the U play only Version of the game you can also verify your game files with U play

if you have the game via u play only here are instructions how to verify your game files thru their client
Again its probably best to make sure you launch Uplay as RUN as Administrator when you do a file verify

    https://support.ubi.com/en-US/FAQ/60...0000000ee85CAA
see the bottom of the page

    1. In the Uplay client, click on Games.

    2. Click on the game you wish to verify the files for. You will land on a window that looks like the one below. Click on the Properties and choose Verify files.

    3. Uplay will then begin the process of checking your files.

    4. When the process is complete, you will be met with the following window that will display the results of the scan and tell you whether or not files need to be redownloaded or not.

I have the same problem. What do you mean "this came from video card manufacturer"? The problem came or what?
How did you update MB bios?

the support from video card manufacturer send me some trouble shootings and the mother board bios update fixed my problem, you will have to find out what mother board you have and go to the support or update download page and download your latest update for your bios they will tell you how to do it be very careful and follow their instruction because if you don't do it right you will damage your mother board
