Lol. Keeping someone knocked down with 100% down time until they fall off a cliff isn't an exploit? The 50/50 was only the beginning of what people were doing with this. Using 0 stamina to keep someone on the ground INDEFINITELY is what was being exploited, the tourney stuff was what was mostly spread and ruining the experience of watching people play the game.
I also didn't mention that from charge of the oni's knockdown you can get a 100% demon's embrace, thrown on the ground, rinsed off and repeated. This DOES require some precise timing to lock a player down completely though. No amount of spamming roll will save you because you are already in the torrent while standing up.Originally Posted by kweassa1917 Go to original post
What if the Charge only knocked you down while out of Stamina? And you could still regain stamina while knocked down. Thus no lockdown, and no spamming Shugs unless theyre stupid. Its just a good no stamina punishment for a hero that can quickly get out of range to punish anyone. You simply just cant forget about the charge, its still a viable strategy in the right situation, and it cant be spammed. Is there something wrong with this that im missing?
The knockdown was not an exploit since it was clearly intended to knock opponents down as shown in the Advanced Tutorial video. People abused it because of the 50/50, that was the problem. The charge could easily be avoid by dodging but the problem was you could also get GB. What Ubisoft needed to do was to not allow you to GB whilst sprinting, or move the charge to the GB button, thus removing the 50/50 scenario. Instead they decided to nerf the move into the ground.Originally Posted by RunnerRunner22 Go to original post
That would have been nice. I miss playing my, "how many headbutts until I can ChargeOni > Heavy," game. Since patch every time I work an opponent down to exhausted I get melancholic.Originally Posted by Blasto95 Go to original post
Ppls which cry here about OP Charge of Oni should play Shugoki for more than 1 month. Than will understand difference between noob and skilled player. Skilled player can punish Charge of Oni. Unskilled not! Looks how ppls cry about Valk and Conq now. Lots of heroes have ability to get through defense with one free hit (Valk, Conq, Warden, Warlord, LB, Nobushi and maybe another ...).
Stop crying and improve your skills!
Charge of the Oni would be fine if the combo with a heavy used up a ton a stamina and stopped the regeneration. I've already stated the gross way it was being abused, the 50/50 was only the start and what most average experienced shugoki players used.Originally Posted by Dizzy4213 Go to original post
So you are referring to tourney players from invitational touneys as noobs who just cry? Everyone who saw these touneys know that this move was totally broken and that people exploited the **** out of it.Originally Posted by BigFatMonsterCZ Go to original post
i dont trust myself yet to make a clear statement on the use of the move after the patch but i saw several Shugokis in high level Dominion games who still can make good use of it.
Broken? no. You couldnt keep someone locked down while dealing damage. And there are counters for it as well. Exploited? yes 100%. Very strong move, not many counters, and very very frustrating. But broken? no...it was in his freaking instructional video. It should not be meant to spam. But the possibility of knocking someone down, canceling and getting a free heavy hit should be possible.Originally Posted by Utopie. Go to original post
And someone said exhausted knockdowns would be a bad idea because Shug would just constantly headbutt-exhaust-charge...What does a Shug do now other than light+headbutt 80% of the time...what a terrible argument. Maybe exhausted knockdowns isnt the answer...but it wouldnt cause worse gameplay that what Shug was before or is right now...
