They said on April 13th's Warrior's Den that they are working on it, they have a code they are testing, it isn't coming too soon because it will be part of a patch that they are working on balancing the defensive meta but it is coming.

the only ways i can think of to get rid of zone flicker is either..
    1. making the zone input timing (pressing both buttons on controller) smaller so you would have to press the buttons almost exactly the same time, making zone harder to do and making the chance or a light or heavy coming out instead higher or
    2. either putting a delay on the light attack after input (making it useless for heavy or vortex interrupt) or a delay on the indicator (probably making all the quicker chars - PK especially- light attacks almost unblockable)

so basically it isnt coming any time soon...

I think the fix is simple. In order to activate a zone attack, your guard must be on the appropriate side of guarding.

For example, my Valkyrie swings from the right and then from the left for her zone attack. That being said, I must be guarding to the right before pressing R1+R2 to do the zone attack. Pressing the two buttons in any other guard direction will do nothing.

i think this makes zone alot less powerful though as it takes the surprise away... the zone is so good (without flicker) as on certain chars its quick and you basically need to anticipate it, if you have to put your guard there it removes any need to anticipate. also what happens for assassins that dont have guard direction?

Apparently they already have a way in mind, Roman said they are testing code on it.
