IMO, what I see here is a game that is on its last stages of the development cycle:
... increased number of bugs presumably caused by reduced development/QA staffing (probably moving on to make other games or the follow-on to this one)
... more blatant attempts (like this) to suck money from the diehard players (you don't have to play nice when you know the game is 3 years old and will be replaced at some point)
This is what I was thinking. Regardless of the Bandito being free or not, the way the game is delivered to us seems to be slowly changing. I couldn't agree more with what you said and I'm pretty sure there was recently talk online somewhere about the next mobile instalment for RL, not information per say, just to say something was in the pipeline. They even had a few jobs advertised for the next mobile and console iterations of Trials.

Actually, now I come to think of it, I remember that the next mobile game was not specifically confirmed as a Trials game, which left me suspecting it might be a different type of game (Draw Race, Moto Heroz, 1000 Heroz, Nutty Fluffies etc. I really hope it's a core Trials game though.

Back to the Bandito, I wasn't going to buy it on principle, however, if Trials Frontier is coming to the end of it's life cycle I might, just this once, spend money on this game. I really hate F2P though. I'd much rather pay more for a complete game.

I'm going to hope that they're releasing this as a pay for first dibs type of deal.... I have no qualms with the platform of paying for skins for bikes, or outfits that give a slight boost to normal game mechanics... but to need to pay for an essential piece of the game seems downright insulting.

I'm giving RL the benefit of the doubt with this latest bike, that they've released it on iOS first, and now the Android users get to use it after tomorrow. Perhaps a week after the MC event, we'll have an event or a way to earn it in game. At the very least, we should be able to win blueprint pieces on the loot wheels, or buy them in the bunker shop or with gems. It would be a very kind gesture to release them in the bunker shop, since I think there's a great majority of players that have been spending bunker points on golden tickets for the last year+.

Please RedLynx, support your fan base and not the credit card warriors.

Sorry, been 1% in MC this whole last set of contests, and MC rewards even at the highest level is worthless amounts of gems, tickets, and parts. I DID get one oddity from this last run though... I earned one Agent blueprint. Which is even MORE useless, since I already earned/maxed my Agent 1+ years ago.... just seeing the blueprint in the rewards made me scared that somehow RL had wiped my Agent bike... luckily I still have it....

(I am sure the Bandito does require blueprints; they have been a part of some of the ridiculous "deals" they want me to pay for)

    No, they won't.

Of course, once it’s decided, you’ll know when and where the Blueprints might be available. Currently, it's available on sale, and you can race on it for free in the Midnight Circuit, if you’re on Android!
