You cant compare For Honor to those games because they are COMPLETELY different games. You might as well compare CoD to WoW. There no other game like For Honor. The closest thing I have ever seen in games to For Honor is the PvP in Dark Souls.


And I loved Dark Souls. So I play the game like Dark Souls and I have a friggin blast doing it. If I win (and most times I do) then that is just a bonus. If I lose? Oh well. There is always next game. I play games for fun. I don't play games to win or have the best K/D. And playing like how you are describing isn't fun for me.


I would rather have a blast in a loss than be bored in a win any day of the week.


Its the same reason why I don't use Shotguns in Battlefield or spawn kill in R6 Siege. The easy way is boring and doesn't offer any sort of challenge. Yeah I would get more kills and maybe even more wins, but at the cost of diminishing how much fun I am having.

So no thanks.

Can't really compare the gameplay of LoL to CS:GO either, but there's definitely common ground in that they're competitive games.

Tell that to Ubisoft, not me.

It's largely in their hands as to whether or not they want to sacrifice "serious PVP e-sport" for "meh do what you want who cares have just fun or whatever".

They have stated multiple times now they are letting the community decide how the game is to be played. UbiNoty even just said on the previous page that all they did was give us the tools and that its up to us how we use them.

I am willing to bet that a LARGE number of the people who are in the Honor crowd will take it even more seriously at that point.


Also there is no way that Ubisoft is EVER gonna step in to punish people for playing with Honor in ranked. You are nuts if you think that will ever happen.

Ubisoft is nuts of they think the ranked scene will ever take off if they don't punish players that actively cause others to lose.

Ranked or no Ranked thats just not ever gonna be a thing. If they were ACTUALLY griefing by letting people kill them or just running in circles spamming emotes that would be one thing. But simply waiting for a 1v1 to end? lol no

That is not at all what I said, but if you have to put words in my mouth, that's fine.

My claim is that playing in a way that will cause a loss should be punished. That basically includes refusing to do stuff that will ensure a victory. Gimping oneself with honor rules includes refusing to do a bunch of stuff that will ensure a victory.

That may be a problem when rank is at stake.

Also, I never mentioned anything about banning for playing like that. That's a very creative assumption you made.

Waiting for a 1v1 to end can quickly turn into a "congrats, I just got knocked down a peg because you're too busy having 'fun' and caused our loss, enjoy the report."

It's not as simple as you're trying to make it out to be.

Something's going to have to give at some point.

If they do bring ranked to the brawl game mode, I doubt much if any of the honor groups will be near the top. Actually fighting 2v2 is a whole nother strategy than 1v1. By playing with honor they'd only be limiting themselves.
