I like the loadouts idea even when its over a year late to the game.![]()
Its about comfort - change all with one click, not about saving/reducing time to 1second or gain advantages in PvP (1 click is better than 5+ regardless of the time).
If I think of one similar game, this is how it could/should work:
Clicking on loadout change should start cca 3sec "change" animation, like grabbing things out of backpack (manual change piece after piece should stay also).
Idk how it is now..if loadouts have only gear change or also save skills and talents.
In PvE changing enabled anywhere even if skills are on cooldown if the loadout has same skills used.
In DZ too, the 3 sec animation should be enough to not change in fight...or die while changing, but could get away with only out of combat.
In Last Stand...changing anything (even 1 piece or weapon) should be restricted only to spawn screen menu after dying. Not out of combat, not in home base, not anywhere.
Only choosing your loadout before clicking on area to spawn.
I'm actually good with this.Originally Posted by Ubi-gabelikes Go to original post
As a primarily a PvE player, I am 100% in support of removing the ability to hotswitching in any activity.
In PvE, you will have periods when you are out of combat, due to the nature of PvE missions (HVTs and some incursions are the exception to this) where you are out of combat and have the time to switch loadouts manually. Furthermore, it is very rare that you need to change a loadout to complete PvE activities; the only really exception would be Stolen Signal, and potentially Clear Sky - BOTH have periods where you are out of combat for as long as you need.
The DZ, you have periods when you are out of combat, and have Safe houses and Checkpoints for periods when you can be out of combat for as long as you want. The same goes with Last Stand - unless you are spawn trapped, you spawning at your home spawn will mean you are out of combat. In relation to Last Stand, I am tempted to suggest that loadouts are disabled period, but I think it would be a step too far!!!
i didn't think "bumped your heads" was bad but ok, i'll try to tone it down even further lol. (thats old school)Originally Posted by Ubi-gabelikes Go to original post
i do not think that under any circumstance should there be a restriction on the way gear is changed right now. with loadouts i think out of combat should be the only thing that stops it. combat from AI or players should stop a loadout switch. i can certainly see how NO restriction on a swap would be very harmful to the game but implementing a no swap at all policy is even more outrageous. it will slow gameplay down too much and safe zones aren't always close when standing still not fighting is fine.
