    Should revenge be rebuffed, but removed in 1v1?

    The majority of complaints of revenge mode is the fact that it triggers very easily in 1v1.

    Most people don't really have a problem with revenge mode being used to tone down ganking.

    This game would feel a lot more fun, and fair if it they had this way.

    What's funny is that revenge didn't normally trigger in true 1v1's. What happens is that the player that is outnumbered receives increased revenge gain based on proximity of additional enemies as well as whether or not they are locked on targeting him.

    Additionally Revenge gain doesn't dissipate too quickly after a fight has ended, so if you killed off one enemy, and then engage his friend who patiently waited nearby to avoid triggering revenge and prevent your escape, what usually happens is that your Revenge meter is still filled and is triggered by the quick follow up combatant.

    I only play duels and I can't say anything about the other modes but IMHO Revenge does not have and never had any reason to be in duels. It should have been removed there a while ago. This was debated many times before. Fix should be easy to do. There were some arguments brought up in the past in favour of revenge in duels but also against. I try to summarise them here.

    PRO REVENGE in DUELS:
    1. Revenge is in the game to prevent attack spamming and to incentivize "smart" defensive play.
    2. Blocking hits should give a reward to the defending player.
    3. It is a comeback mechanic.
    4. There are ways to circumvent revenge like breaking of combat and running around before the bar fills
    5. Just run away when the opponent activates it.

    CON REVENGE in DUELS:
    1. To prevent constant attacking the game allready has a mechanic. It is called the stamina bar. The game allready gives more then enough incentive to play defensively since waiting for a parry is the most effective way to win. There is nothing smart about just standing and blocking hits.
    2. Blocking is easy it shouldn't reward the player with something as powerfull as revenge. Every blocked hit costs the attacker stamina while the defender is not losing anything. That is fair as it is without revenge.
    3. Even if in my opinion For honor duels should be about skill and not having wildcard mechanics like revenge in them a comeback mechanic should activate only if the player is in a clear disadvantage, like in a 1v2 scenario. In a duel you can actually have more health then your opponent and still get revenge since all you have to do is block, which involves practically no risk at all. Some people are abusing this and when they see a Kensei who has no safe way to open up a turtle they will just block his every attempt and wait for the advantage that revenge gives them. They won't even parry because they are afraid of feints. It is a very save tactic and anyone can do it. Kensei is low tier in duels already, revenge is just making it even worse for him.
    4. There is nothing more fun then running around in the middle of combat. Am I right?
    5. The opponent can activate it whenever he wants to. You can be giving him the last hit then he suddenly explodes throws you on the ground and punishes you with a heavy combo that takes off half of your health. Having revenge is a reall advantage no matter how you look at it.

    If someone is reading this wanted to thank all the players that just ignore revenge alltogether when they get it. You are the reall MVP.

    dude i think its not only that its triggered so easily in 1v1 . But also the tons of stupid dmg boost you get through it. At least my opinion

    Dmg is still high and you get a shield. You can easily fight against 2 or maybe 3 people. But yes its hard and not meant that you are the threat to 4 other players and crush them easily..

    I don't understand how people could complain so much about revenge which by the way is counterable but are ok with unlock tech. Seriously Ubisoft you destroyed a complete unique feature because some whinny kids couldn't smash r2 and get their kills in a zerg. The same kids using unlock tech, turtle meta and 1 hitting groups with feats. You figure with your player base dropping you would tell whoever you are listening to for these changes to get gud.

    Patch has made the game unbalanced.

    The patch was supposed to make 1v1 revenge a little harder. Now everyone is just running around doublle teaming everyone where they used to not do it because it was stupid..


    Heres a vote. Put revenge back the way it was and work on the real issue with this game. THE CONNECTION ISSUES.
