There is one AR in the game that already has a POSP on it and I've killed targets at 600m with that weapon. "His AK-47" It's a boss reward, but it serves the point that scopes on ARs aren't unreasonable for this game.

Dont get me wrong, I completely believe what you say. Just curious.
I'm playing on PS4. The trick to keep them "rendered" is to get them in alert status at a closer range, then bug out to a greater distance. They will still be spotted even up to 900m. With lower magnification scopes they can be harder to see, but you can still do it. Another trick to keep them rendered on the PS4 is to scope in, then backpedal to the distance you want to shoot them, but if you release the L2 button they will disappear. I'm sure where the limitation lies on draw distance, but those are some solo workarounds.

    1) That is a solid argument. There is already one AR with scope, so why not make more?

    2) You've done some solid research. Respect!

You're welcome. You can also try using a max range drone before you get to the area, sometimes I can get them spotted in the 500-600m range that way and they will stay that way for a short time. I learned this recently while shooting int he salt flats of Koani.

Enemies are rendered normally at 600 meters, right? At least I had no issue sniping people with MK17 at 600 meters.

I play on PC, and I don't use snipers at all. Digital scope on MK17 works for 75 to 200 meters without any problems, and that is all I need. I haven't been in any situation where I actually need a sniper.
