Nevermind the fact they have other awesome tools like leads to show how far to lead a running or walking target at those ranges. The point is that in real life you can purchase a scope or zero your scope to have easy holdover points.
Let's make things even easier, make bullets have the ballistics of a laser beam, nice and easy for everyone again (sarcasm). While for a dedicated sniper, this would be a nice addition, if things go to heck and enemies start moving or better yet, the "reinforcements" that magically show up at your position show up and now you have complaints of a hold under because you didn't adjust your weapon back for the standard range sight in zero. As things are they really are not that difficult, practice some and it becomes second nature.

Yes the M4 platform and all it's variants should have a longer distance viewing scope
in addition that, the M4 options should include
    - short barrel
    - bipod
    - flashlight
    - extended M4 butt stock

    M16A4 perhaps?

Just throwing more glitter into the wind like the pictures above depict.

i have only put 55gn through it so far. that group was the first time i tried to actually shoot for the bullseye after breaking it in with ~700rds through it. gonna get some boxes of 62/69gn and find out which one runs best. Hoping to get under 1moa if all goes well. I got the upper from white oak and they are known for making above average barrels from what i've heard.

more relevant to the thread though we would definitely need more customization on assault rifles to consider putting scopes on them.

Less to do with people "not getting it" and more to do with people realising the game was never meant to be played from those kind of distances. What is the point of having sniper scopes on assault rifles when there is hardly any point already to use sniper rifles. The only reason I use the M40A5 over the faster firing semi automatics is because it is one of my favourite guns and I like to play like a sniper, even then my average shot distance is still only 110 meters.

The idea of flashlights sounds alright, I don't see why people are constantly asking for bipods when you can hold all the guns dead still at maximum level anyway.

HK417 with 12in barrel, scope, NVadaptor, folding bi-pod, and suppressor.

I'd rather it be a 20in barrel and the NVadaptor & bi-pod wouldn't be of much use, but that picture still makes me smile

more like this minus the bi-pod

7.62x51 ballistics at 457.2 meters (500 yards, chart only goes to that far and I don't care to look for an actual 500 meter chart) the drop is around -56.4146 inches.

Not sure where you get the idea the drop is a marginal few centimeters, but here you go, some actual data to show the holdovers are not completely unreal. 300-400 meter shots with the ak 12 come fairly easy for me using the digital scope, but it is something that I have grown accustomed to and know the relative holdover for those ranges. Practice, memorize your holdovers for your weapon and scope combination choice. anything greater than 500 meters for a single target you might as well choose a sniper rifle weapon and again, practice and memorize your holdovers for the particular weapon and scope combination of choice.

Well a "few centimeters" might have been exagerrated, but the numbers you provided pretty much prove my point that real life ballistics has been exaggerated a lot.
As for ingame gameplay, its all fun and joy if you use weapons that have small bullet drop per default and max out the range stat.
e.g. if you max out mk14 (tx5i scope, range finder, long barrell, btw. this weapon with this very setup has the least bullet drop of all weapons ingame) the bullet will hit the ground when shooting while standing upright after about 360m. According to your stastic, the bullet drop on 360m is only 75cm in real life. Id say nomad is at least twice as tall . But thats okay, ingame is just half the bullet drop from real life, that is bearable. HOWEVER. If you use the G28 scope, 3 point laser instead of range finder, the bullet will hit the ground after only 280m because the range stat does affect the bullet drop severly. So now we are talking about, at least 160cm bullet drop on 280m range. Again, according to your statistic on 280m the bullet drop is only 35cm for the 7,62mm Nato round in real life. So now where talking about 4,5 times difference and thats pretty huge. You can get even Larger differences if you use the G28 or dragunov rifle which has per default way more bullet drop.
